“charming and excellent people”

Assiana House

Mar 24, 2008

We stayed with my wife in a cave room, with comfort and good services.
The people were very helpfull and we could use all the premises at anytime, including internet.
Breakfast was very good and in a very nice atmosphere.
But mainly the owner, Mr. Mevlut Bilgic gave us all the help we needed, including free transportation to town when needed.

“A fabulous hotel in wonderful Cappadocia”

Assiana House

Dec 24, 2007

It is absolutely not sufficient to say that Cappadocia in Turkey is one of the most beautiful and astonishing places in the world, it is a must!!
Going there and being able to leave the real turkish hospitality is even better... I've discovered this small family owned hotel in a guide and didn't really expected anything... but men when I was there I felt in love with this place: great view on Urgup, romantic and beatiful rooms, great hospitality and great dinners with the family of the hotel.

I highly reccomend this place, go and enjoy this beatiful country (I hope to welcome it in European Union as soon as possible!!!).

We had a 3 nıght stay ın Urgup at the Assıana House. The owners were always there to help us wıth whatever they could. When we arrıved late at nıght tıred and hungry, our host drove us to a restaurant that was open and then came to pıck us up agaın. We had a lovely breakfast wıth homemade jams by the owners wıfe. The rooms are cave rooms some wıth fıreplaces. On our last nıght we had a group of 10 frıends that had a prıvate dınner ın our breakfast room wıth a wood burnıng fıreplace.

“Family retreat”

Assiana House

Oct 19, 2007

We are a family of four, vegetarians, with two boys of high energy levels. We wanted to stay in a cave house in Cappadocia and were recommended Assiana by our travel agent. What can I say! We just found ourselves an extended family in the kind and soft spoken Mr. Mevlut, his lovely wife and his two children. Mr. Mevlut has a friendly cat, Garfield, and this rounds up his family. The rooms are tastefully done up (though the cave pension looks very deceptive from outside). We stayed in a triple room for three days and the kids just loved the cave corner in the room. The good part is there is no TV in the room and we didnt miss it all! There is a telephone in the room as well but I guess people taking a trip to Urgup dont need it anyways. The bathrooms are spic and span - in my opinion an indicator of the quality of house keeping. Breakfast is ample with bread, spread of cheese, lovely home made jams by Mrs. Mevlut, omelette & salad. We were out all day, so can't comment on lunch & dinner. All in all, a memorable stay. If someone is looking for a personal touch, then this is the place to stay. In fact, my little 5 year old son calls it a home and refuses to call it a hotel!

“Wonderful Turkish Hospitality”

Simple words enough can not explain the hospitality and graciousness of the hotel owner. He is a kind soul who bent over backwards to make us feel welcomed. "This is not a hotel, it is your home" is what he told us the first night, and lived up to it in every aspect. The rooms are warm and cozy....beautifully decorated, number 4 and 5 have lovely fireplaces. It's not right in town but a nice 10 minute walk down the hill to Urgup.
