Words really don't do justice to the experience of staying here. Given it was a honeymoon we didn't want to stay in the heart of Dubai knowing it would be pretty busy so we opted for the Hilton in RAK. The building itself is a tad dated, however this is more than compensated for by the interior decor, extreme levels of cleanliness, amazing quality and variety of food and unbelievable genuine hospitality of all the staff. The pool at the hotel itself is pretty big, and surrounded by comfy beds with tables and umbrellas. Better pools can be found at the beach club but we rarely ventured there. The gym is fine too, with 2 steppers, a treadmill and a bike, plus free weights, a couple of benches and an all in one multigym plus a couple of tv's and air con thank god!! The rooms are cleaned every day and bed linen changed, and we had a best wishes cake delivered to the room to help us celebrate the fact it was a honeymoon. Finally, the food is amazing. The choice and quality in the Al Khor restaurant beggars belief, and all of it prepared fresh three times a day. We went all inclisive to make up for some lost eating time of a pre wedding diet, which I certainly made up for. We'd definitely like to come back here as the worst thing about this place is leaving!! Hope this helps, Ev.

Me and my better half have just arrived back from a 5 day all inclusive break at the RAK Hilton and have to say we really enjoyed ourselves. Like many new visitors to the UAE we didn't really know what to expect other than what we've read from the reviews listed on this site and coupled with the knowledge that we were firstly flying with Emarites and staying in a Hilton, would be a receipe for success. Well glad to say that we really did have a great time. Granted the hotel is somwhat dated the service and staff was certainly not. Having read some of the previous reviews that noted low standards of professionalism of service I have to say they must really cannot have been in the same hotel/resort. I'm not the easiest to please, but not once found anything to cpmplain about regarding the hotel service. There is of course a great deal of construction work ongoing that doesn't quite add to the skyline, nevertheless it was a minimum distraction and certaily didn't cause us any great concern. The beach club was very well sited and with the newly constructed Hilton well underway it's no doubt going to be the jewel of RAK. We are currently suffering withdrawl symptons having to settle back into the daily work grind, nevertheless we WILL be returning; possibly in one of the bungalows if the new Hilton is not finished. A couple of pointers for anyone considering a visit.
1. All inclusine option - excellent value.
2. No special adaptors required for UK electrical items - ie phone chargers.
3. Men, you must wear long-trousers for evening meals.
4. Used the hotels 'guide and his car' service to visit Dubai for a 12 hour excursion; well worth it. Had dinner in the Burl Al Arab (7 * hotel), great but v-expensive for drinks; glass champers 200 AED (about £29 each); brilliant building nonetheless. Our guide took us all over Dubai, only via agreement ie what specifically did we want to visit and he then manipulated our programme around it; first class.
5. Internet facilities avail (£3 for 15 mins) and also connection in rooms but again not cheap.

All in all a great break, am missing it already, and WILL be retrurning at the next available opportunity.

Just spent 5 nights here for my birthday. We went with Virgin and upgraded to all inclusive which was definately worth the money. There were 2 restaurants just outside the hotel, one Lebanese and one western but there were no menus outside so I dont know how pricey they were. Checked in at 9am to find cold meats, cheese, rolls and salmon in the room. Spent most days at the beach club where we found no shortage of beds or umbrellas. Lunch at the cafe rio was good. Superb caesar salad with chicken or shrimp. All staff were cheerful and friendly.
Didn't try the Hoof and Fin although we meant to because we enjoyed the buffet so much. This was partly because we enjoyed eating outside on the terrace. The chef was always cooking something fresh out there. Discovered a delicious Arabian dessert called Om Ali. Like a luxorious bread and butter pudding. All inclusive wine was totally acceptable.
Went on the day trip to Musandam, Oman. A lovely day watching dolphins and sea birds. Snorkelling and enjoying the scenery. We booked it at the desk by the lifts. It was 700dirhams and they took a credit card happily. Took about an hour and a half to get there,30mins of which was crossing the border. Visas etc. The driver did it all. We just sat in the cool, comfy car.
Went to the Mall. Enjoyed looking at the different foods etc in Carrefour but nothing else very different there.
Went to the old town. Felt it was nice to see a bit of local life. Lots of shoe and perfume shops.
The shuttle buses were very punctual all the time and left on the dot which was good but make sur your watch says the same as he clock on the bus.
Spent 3 night in the Havana Cuban lounge. Good live music. There were 2 ladies who sang and danced and two chaps on keyboard and drums. Felt they were latin american.
They did come round to remind you at midnight that it was last orders for all inclusive.
We were picked up at 5am on the last day and there was a buffet breakfast put on for us in the lobby. I also had a birthday cake in the bedroom on my birthday.
There was building work going on at the hotel and the beach club. It went on 24 hours a day and you could hear it. They dont work Fridays. This didn't spoil my stay at all. I was just glad I wasn't working.
All in all a good relaxing break

“Good value for money”

My and my boyfriend stayed here for one week unsure what to expect of the UAE and RAK in general. The hotel was good including all inclusive option. If you didn't get the all inclusive option I am not sure where you would eat. There is not much around the hotel except for construction and desert. The Manor Mall is is walking distance. It's really good the hotel offers free shuttle to beach resort, Dubai and local market shopping.

The only problem we had was trying to find out information regarding local RAK sites (i.e. Hot Springs Spa) as no one seemed to know anything about it and we would get different answers from everyone we asked. Taxis are very cheap and we would recommend taking a taxi to Hot Springs and have him wait for you while you are inside as it is in the middle of nowhere and very difficult to get a cab back. After that experience we didn't try other outings but would recommend doing your research before you go.

Overall, really nice stay and if you are looking for relaxing, no hassle or adventure stay, we would recommend.

Hotel overlooking industrial area. Horrible swimming pool and staff doesn't know the city at all. Although hotel offer a lovely beach it is located 15 minutes away from premises. Rooms designed simply. Hotel staff completely incompetent, misdirect you and provide falls information.
