I stayed at the Hilton Narita for 2 nights during a layover/short visit to Tokyo. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. My room (standard room) was modern and well kept with all the standard amenities you would expect from a major hotel chain. The free shuttle from the terminal to the airport was punctual as well as the shuttle from the airport to Narita station. My only complaint was the insanely expensive food in the hotel but it wasn't such a big deal; just take the free shuttle bus into Narita and get some food in town which is cheaper and better.

Very good sound insulation in the room, i.e. no airplane noise whatsoever despite room directly facing airstrip not so far away. Had a slightly upgraded version from the very basic room (superior or something like that) and that one certainly didn’t stink at all. Also it wasn’t dark, so I guess I managed to avoid two main complaints in other reviews…

Free non-stop shuttle bus from the airport with 10-15 min drive.

So, efficient transportation between hotel and airport, clean modern room that is certainly big enough for one night stay and a rapid checkin/checkout. Breakfast that was not the best in the world but for sure good enough to get the day started. What else would you need from transit hotel? At least for me Hilton Narita does the job.

Would I return there? Sure, if I ever have to spend a night at Narita airport again.

Originally we booked a 'standard' room but were offered an up grade for circa £20 which delivered a clean and efficient superior suite.

As a one night stay, almost in the airport, and prior to a long haul flight we were impressed at how quiet the room was.

Evening meal was expensive and bar prices were excessive, however breakfast provided a wide choice and was good value.

The rooms are old, very dirty and with a terrible smell ! All the rooms (I have seen about 10) are dark, are smelling terrible and the toilet is so dirty that you prefer to go outside. This is definitely not Hilton like !
