Location of this hotel is superb - literally right on the beach of soft powder sand. It is an oasis of tranquility - just the spot to crash out for 4 - 5 days as a break en route to / from Australia.
The staff are all extremely pleasant and friendly.
I just switched off my brain and looked out over the sea at the setting sun.

We spent a week in this beautiful piece of heaven. True, the rooms were small, but we didn't spend much time inside.
The resort was clean and the service was good. The location is great. It is nice and quiet. Our children had a great time (6, 4 and 1 1/2). We spent lots of time at the beach and pools. Langkawi is a beautiful place to be. Rented a car for a day (cheap) and went to the waterfalls - a must - and the cable car. The Bon Ton's Nam restaurant is a must for dinner. There are lots of places to eat within walking distance of the Frangipani, I recommend Sun Cafe and Sunday Bistro. The breakfast at the hotel is good and the view in the morning was beautiful. We also took an island hopping tour through the hotel and it was fun.

After reading the reviews at Trip Advisor, to be honest I was a bit scared about staying @ Frangipani but I am glad that we chose it since it was exactly what we wanted. It was calm, quiet, and extremely green and the overall look was very natural. The beach is extremely beautiful and clean. We stayed in a Standard Room and it was very basic but neat. We were not much bothered about the room since we hardly stayed inside it. Most of the restaurants and shopping areas are in the vicinity of the hotel and that’s another plus.

The stay was totally worth as compared to the price we paid for. I don’t expect 5 star amenities if I am paying a price of 3/4star

I loved Frangipani's. We stayed in one of the small bungalows, a few metres from the beach. The room looked new and was very clean and well air-conditioned. The bathroom was lovely and there was an outdoor shower - so exotic! The staff were lovely on check-in and very helpful throughout our holiday. Breakfast is fab, pretty standard in Malaysia - so much choice. Location was alright - although it's right on the beach, there's only a small town within walking distance. However, there are some lovely bars also within walking distance for the evening and a brilliant restaurant - The Lighthouse, on the beach, serving delicious food albeit at British prices.
Definitely recommended for a quiet, relaxing getaway. I'd like to revisit for a honeymoon, one day!
