We only stayed for 2 nights, we hadn't booked anything in advance and arrived on Dec 25th - and were told by the taxi driver that everything was fully booked. He arranged the hotel through his wife's sister or something like that - but anyway, if you're going in the high seson (especially Christmas), I would book in advance...
The hotel was ok, spacious rooms, clean bathroom - breakfast was nothing special (I tried to get a glass of orange juice, but were told that it was only for the business guests...) - but as mentioned, the location is great. The hotel is on the beach - which is breathtaking, white and sandy :-)
Langkawi certainly has something for everyone, with it's gorgeous nature, sandy beaches, activities (golf, lots of theme parks +++), restaurants and resorts. We didn't stay long, but managed to see the Underwater world, went on the gondola, and horse back riding - everything was fun and well organised.

Ps. Even though you're in Malaysia, and they have great local food - you have to try the Italian restaurant (aargh, can't remember the name, but it's a 15 minute walk to the right when you come out of the hotel - towards the luxury resorts)
Best Italian food ever - Yummy!!!

This hotel is in a great location right on the beach front of Chenga beach with walking distance to all the restaurants. There is no pool but it is not needed as the beach is beautiful with clear waters and white sand and no jellies!! The rooms were average nothing special at all but the location was great!
