Our Stay at the Midtown started out O.K, in fact we enjoyed it a lot- but we had all kinds of problems which Tarnished an otherwise Good stay. Firstly, I was asked to Have US Dollars ready to pay for our Room at Checkout. I arranged the US currency and was asked to Show it to Reception Staff at Check in, to prove I actually had it. I was also told that because I was paying by Cash, I would have to leave a Credit Card on File. After returning home overseas, I found my Credit Card had been Debited 40,000 Pesos without Permission. It took a Couple of International Phone Calls and Emails to have it Refunded. At Checkout I was handed a Huge bill for Room service items we had not taken. Including an old Grey Handtowel at a charge of $20. This item was later Removed from the Bill but we had to pay for other items not taken, or miss our flight. We were also constantly pestered (Daily) to Pay for our Room up front. On the Positive Side, the Location was Excellent, the Breakfast- a Mix of East meets West, was Good and Some of the staff were very Helpfull. The Swimming pool was closed for 6 days and when re-opened, we recieved bad Chlorine burns to our Eyes, Faded Clothes and my Brown hair turned Red ! Our Room was Quite Good, Clean and the Aircon worked Great. Room Paint and Carpet a Little run down but it was still quite ok. I would stay here again but I hope they get better Staff at reception.
