I stayed in this hotel in May 2004. I had a single room for 59Euro. It was nicely furnished and had an adequate size. I especially enjoyed the shower with nice fittings and strong water pressure. The bed was comfortable , too. Ask for a renovated room in 9, 10th or 11th floor, the ones facing the back side of the hotel are very quiet. The location---walking distance from a subway station, the trolleybus station ( takes you to the Red Square in 20 minutes) is right opposite the hotel. There are lots of shops nearby, the area is safe and clean.
I also liked the Russian-style breakefast--they serve dumplings, omelettes, mashed potatoes , meat balls--very unusual, but tasty-- there are also cereals, cheeses, salads etc. Criticism:all Tv.channels are in Russian . Still good value for the money!
