This hotel is in a brilliant position just a few minutes walk away from the amazing JR Kyoto Railway Station, is quite new and modern and was very reasonably priced which explained its constantly busy reception area.
We knew to expect smaller hotel rooms in Japan than other Asian countries but our twin bedded room here was the smallest hotel room we had ever encountered. I particularly chose a twin room as I knew we would get more floor space than a double bed room but this room, in no way catered to foreign visitors lugging 2 large suitcases. Hanging space was at a minimum and we had to keep both cases closed and standing up in a corner and if one of us wanted to move around the room the other had to sit on the bed. The spotlessly clean and well equipped bathroom was a tiny prefabricated unit that was less than a meter wide and very claustrophobic. On the plus side- The staff were friendly, the windows opened for fresh air, the king single beds were comfortable, the lobby offered 2 internets at about $1 for 10 minutes and a microwave oven, and on the top floor were lovely Japanese style segregated hot baths available for Y100 ($1.20). I would only recommend this hotel to those travelling with very little luggage.
