we have stayed 3 times at the Melia Kuala Lumpur, all 3 times booked via AGODA and that will be the last time too! AGODA seems to sell the unaware customer rooms straight from hell! there is no point in complaining to the MELIA MANAGEMENT or to AGODA as you never hear back from them + nothing will improve!
the first time we booked we had the most beautifull room ever, fruit bowl was waiting, spectacular view of the twin towers, spotless room and bathroom with everything in it one could ever wish for. beds excellent and pillows too, towels were flufffy and plenty! the second time we got a room straight from hell overlooking not only a very dismall and depressing filthy roof top, but no fruit bowl, a bathroom stript of the even most rudementary essentials. we were so stunned that we wondered if we were going to be charged extra for not bringing our own toilet paper! beds were lumpy and bedsheets with staines + there were only two smallish bath towells and in an non smoking room on a non smoking floor there were plenty of cigarette burns...!. we called house keeping and after waiting what seemed like hours a very crappy and worn out house keeper knocked on our door, handed 2 handtowels + all the items which were missing and informed us that "...the next time you stay here you bring your own stuff..." and with that she slammed the door and was off! it was late so we left it at that. breakfast is in a small area but is more then plentifull and good, friendly staff who look very overworked and very under paid! we left a complaint letter at the reception and went on with our stay in kuala lumpur. day 2, and nobody contacted us and on day 3 we left for home. our 3rd stay was 100 times worse then the second with not only the filthy depressing rooftop but also the noise of a party which seemed to go on until lunch the next day. people have parties but having too pay for the noisy privilegde and the dubious enjoyment of drunken people grabbing a microphoon and singing in a tone which would make whole mountain ranges crumble is just not on! a lettter was handed to the reception and we went on with our 3rd visit to kuala lumpur. day 2, and nobody contacted us and on day 3 we went home. we have since send a letter, registered and a fax but up till this day we never ever have received any word from the MANAGEMENT of the MELIA KUALA LUMPUR! now this is our sad story but we are very, very relieved that many of our friends can tell an even more horrifying sttory, so the lesson we learned is AGODA DOES NOT CARE ABOUT ITS CUSTOMERS EITHER! we never ever will book via them again and we gratefully acknowledge that all of our friend's won't do it either! a plus of the melia kuala lumpur is that it is right next to a train station, so in case it all geets too much you can grab your baag and run...! the melia kuala lumpur is right opposite time square with all the shops, around the corner there are more malls + shops, but that is just about the only plus we and about 30 other people , can think of so in other words, what you pay is not what you get!
