Fruit in the lobby a nice touch. Friendly staff, laundry facility was not working
Upon checking in I handed to the front desk my Priority Club card to ensure that the number had been entered correctly during the reservation. I was told that the number was indeed incorrect ant that they would amend it. I was then passed my room key/card folder and a small complimentary bag containing some snacks. The following morning while traveling to my meeting I happened to look further into the folder and found a small slip of paper which had my details printed on it - at least at first glance they appeared to be my details. The details were actually pertaining to another person with the same name! I might not have been too concerned had the information only contained a name and Priority Club number but they also contained the other person's complete credit card number (in their entirety - no numbers **** 'ed out) replete with expiry date, billing address, phone number not to mention room preference. I contacted the other person and informed him of this error in case he received my details and to ensure him that I would let the hotel know and destroy the information. Upon returning to the hotel I asked to speak to the manager. He initially seemed to think I was concerned about not receiving priority club credit for my stay - which was the least of my concerns! When I informed him that I thought it was poor practice he replied "Oh, well we stopped doing that yesterday". I was stunned - how convenient. When I further informed him that I had called the other person in order to prevent further mix up, I was asked in a very accusatory manner "Why would you do that?!" Needless to say I was not impressed.
Upon check out my colleague also noticed that he too had been given a similar slip of paper included in his check-in package. It also was of a different person with the same name and also included that person's credit card details (number, expiry, address, telephone number). In this day of protecting one's information in order to ward off identity theft I find it very irresponsible behaviour on the part of the hotel system to be passing out this information in any manner and in addition the flippant attitude of the Hotel management to it's regard. Not only have we been left with a question mark concerning the Holiday Inn Addison Hotel but also with the entire IHG group.
Overshadowed by the personal details issue, I also mentioned to the front desk staff in the morning that the refrigerator unit had mold growing inside it and asked that it be cleaned during my room service so that I might use it. I had to repeat my request the following day as it was not taken care of upon my return - even though my room and linens had been serviced.
I am altogether extremely unimpressed. I do not consider my expectations lofty but on this occasion the brand failed to live up minimal levels of expected service. I have been very loyal toward IHG brands over the last year for both business and leisure - in part, I'll admit, to the Priority Club points program, however with a world of choices I'd definitely consider other properties

ServiceWe booked through Priceline. We didn't intend on staying in Dallas so this was last minute. We hoped to get adjoining rooms but they were all full so we were across the hall from each other. No worries.
The hotel was nice. The elevators were no frill. It seems odd to be commenting on an elevator but my husband even brought it up and for him to notice that they seemed too industrial says a lot. He's an easy going guy. The elevator area was really industrial feeling, like a service elevator. That said, the rest of the hotel was fine and the rooms were comfortable and clean.
Our rooms had refrigerators and safes. There was an outdoor pool but it was only open after Memorial Day which was a shame. It's Texas, people. It's hot long before the end of May. We happened to stay during Cinco de Mayo which was unfortunate. We couldn't help it but it was a loud night. There were a lot of partiers outside the main lobby which was directly below my room. I wish one of the staff would have gone outside and asked the crowd to keep the noise down. Surely someone who worked at the hotel would have heard the ruckus. That said, we were quite satisfied with this hotel, especially after coming from a disasterous hotel the night before.
It's in a great location too. West on Belt Line you'll find every kind of dining imaginable. And east on Belt Line you'll find a great shopping area with restaurants and boutiques.

Business serviceThis hotel was comfortable and a good place to stay. The staff was mediocre, but the room was spacious and worth the price paid. Overall, it was average.
