“Comfortable place to stay”

El Manantial del Silencio

We had a very comfortable stay at this hotel. It is very quiet, like a convent, with long corridors. Our room was a decent size with a nice bathroom and good linen and toiletries. It was quite simple and bare although that seemed to be the style of the hotel. We also enjoyed the outdoor pool which was very clean with plenty of sun-loungers.

We ate in the restaurant one night and enjoyed excellent gourmet dishes that could match many of the michelin-starred restaurants in London.

It is in a great location, on the edge of Purmamarca town, so we could easily walk in there at night to listen to some folk music. It is also on the road to the Salinas Grandes and a short drive to Tilcara. The roads to these places were all paved and very quiet so it was easy for us to drive around ourselves in our little rented car.

Nice hotel, friendly staff, good location, nice grounds, pleasant to be there, however, no TV, AC & safe.

“Manantial de Silencio....or somewhat silencio”

El Manantial del Silencio

Manantial de SIencio stands out as the luxury hotel in the area, but there are other alternatives that are almost as good. Our room was a suite, clean, four post bed, large tub, but it also was a corner room by the road and the loudest, yippiest dogs to ever have escape suburbia. 18 wheel trucks gearing down out of the Andes, aside, the room was pleasant.

The resteraunt did a decent dinner, but breakfast was spotty, nice rolls one day, the same ones the next day, and again and so on.

All in all, the hotel was a bit over priced but worth the stay and time there.

This is a lovely and comfortable hotel in a rustic natural setting of the Cerro de los Siete Colores. Make sure to see the hill with the morning sun shining on it. Our room was very comfortable, clean and elegantly designed. We had dinner at the hotel, and the food was quite good. A continental breakfast was included in the rate, and it offered a wide selection. There was a nice outdoor pool and well-maintained grounds. I suspect that this is the nicest hotel in Purmamarca, and it is a lovely hotel to visit.
