Looks fantastic,but the service is awful. The staff can be downright rude and don't seem to think that they are there for any kind of 'service'. My colleague had the Do Not Disturb sign on and a porter walked in when he was stark naked. There are plenty of other hotels close to the airport and you can be sure it is one of them I will be using when I am back there next month.

This has to be the biggest hotel I have been to. From the lobby, I looked up in sheer amazement of the rooms flanking all four “walls” of the fortress. Seven floors in fact!

The service is excellent and up to the typical 5 star experience of properties in this area and unlike the incompetent competitors (see my Mumbai, Hyatt the Grand review), these guys know their game.

The food here is great, the people are nice and helpful, the room was excellent (LCD TV’s are standard at last!). The bathroom was very well appointed with more than enough boxes and bottles to keep you amused in there.

The breakfast buffet has a wide variety of local and international food and the lunches are buffet style too.

Finally, we had a “rushed” lunch on our departure due to catching a flight. We advised the wait staff of this and requested a quick order / serve. It was slow and after complaining that we have run out of time, the order quickly arrived with many apologies and a discount on the bill without prompting– so they turned an ugly situation into a good one so they recovered well!

Pros: Location by the airport, excellent staff, ~Rs10,000 / night (for that price, you should get free Internet!)

Cons: No lifts on south end of hotel – a long walk to a room on that end!

Had an amazing 7 weeks in Goa with an overnight stay at the Grand, Mumbai ready for our flight back the next day. Admittedly we booked a suite but the value for money was amazing. We were promptly met at the airport with limousine transfers and were taken to the 6th floor (club lounge) to be checked in. All very efficient. The suite was awesome and well stocked with champagne, fruit, chocolates, cookies, cheeses, sushi, various desserts, the list is endless. We had our own jacuzzi and sauna in the suite so wanted the night to never end. Had dinner and breakfast in the 24/7 cafe and once again can only speak positive about the food and staff in general. Was duly whisked back to the airport by limousine the next day and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone, it was absolutely fabulous. I visit India every year and will definately be returning to the Grand, Mumbai..........BEVERLEY FROM ROMFORD

Like the last two reviews suggest, the Grand is a terrific hotel, and we find it hard to understand the negative criticism in the earlier reviews. Our stay was booked for us as part of a business trip, and having read some scathing reviews, we would have been put off if we had had the choice. Instead, we found the hotel really wonderful and the staff absolutely brilliant-nothing was too much trouble for them. We revelled in total comfort for two days and nights, and wished our stay had been longer. Jay and Gill Mitra
