We spent many days searching the internet looking for the right place to have a bit of luxury at the end of our two month trip to Goa and decided on this hotel as it was pretty much the only contemporary hotel close to the airport - some looked really dated and were the same price!
The price is expensive, especially considering you are in India, and we'd just been paying about £10 a night for a beach hut, but as we'd taken the overnight train it was well worth it for the extreme! We took the train for the experience and as it meant we had a full day in the hotel rather than arriving later in the day from the flight.
Arriving from the train around 06.00 we thought we'd just be able to store our luggage but not check in. The reception staff were fantastic, we must have looked a bit rough with rucksacks and nothing like their usual clients, but found us a beautiful room to check into straight away.
Amazing, it was just as it was in the photos, spotlessly clean, wood floors, spacious, well designed with glass wall in the bathroom giving natural light and a fantastic sunken bathroom. Just perfect. Can't think of a single thing wrong with the room at all. The view at the front wasn't all that but what would you expect so close to the airport!!
The service was fantastic everywhere in the hotel.
The pool, which was freshwater so no nasty chemicals, is gorgeous, with shallow areas to lie in. We spent the whole day lounging around the pool.
We had two breakfasts in the hotel which were fantastic, we're both vegetarians and had no problems.
The bar was great too, we had great cocktails, they make a fab bloody mary.
Everything was just fab here, definitely worth booking.
We were practically the only tourists in the entire hotel and felt a bit strange in the restaurants where everyone else is in business suits. It is definitely not a tourist hotel but then its not at the beach it is an airport hotel after all.
One thing I would say is don't book the taxi to the airport from the reception at 900 rupees, if you go outside they will get you one and I think it was 200 rupees. Big difference!
