Booked through the friendly and prompt Hotel Website for a room specifying two adults and two kids aged seven and below.
First timers even after reading all the wonderful reviews/accolades this Hotel had for many a years.
Carparks, are limited to about 15 cars, 2 in front of the building, 13 near the abandoned building. Other than that, guests have to make do with valid parking coupons/park at their own risks. There are no carpark attendents, however, the hotel staff, even the chef will gladly help! My family was pleasantly surprised but such wonderful gesture.
We had to entered through the'back door' as the Hotel lobby is situated in the first floor (2nd storey). Ground floor was occupied by a restaurant cum pub (at night). Food however, so-so.
The lobby was slightly weathered, clean but with some indelible stains on the carpet. It was small but yet cosy. Over the counter was prompt and friendly.
Allocated a room in the fourth floor. It appears to be a Kid's Suite.
A queen sized bed in expensive sheets (where you will get in a five star hotel only, thread counts maybe in the 200's). Kid's bed with pull-out. Pink for the girl, and blue for the boy. There were bedtime storybooks, toys littered at the shelf.
Open concept kitchen, with microwave oven, sandwich maker, fridge filled with some kiddy sweets, drinks etc. Utensils for kids and adults alike.
Not many channels, though. But there was some VCDs for kids, and one ASTRO channel (star Movies).
A green sofa, sits near the wardrobe meant for four persons. An electronic safe. A small kiddy table with four stools. One rocker (kids).
Shower/toilet clean and homely.
We slept well, even though we could hear faint sounds of music from the PUB below, but it did not bother us.
All in all, the room is good and homely, but not great and neither is it lavishly done, which it was meant to be, The family loves it.
Location is great too, the malls, museum jonker walks are all within walking distance.
Of the three days we spent there, we thoroughly find it a home away from home. Great place with great friendly staff.
However, on our next upcoming trip (in July), we will be looking for another place to put up, as we are still looking for the HOTEL with the "WOW' factor.
