This hotel and location are fantastic! For the price, I believe you get more than what you pay for. We stayed in the Junior Suites with the Jacuzzi tubs - room was VERY clean, plenty of room for 2-4 people. Large picture windows display Arenal Volcano at all times, with a little patio outside. Only a few minutes from La Fortuna and less than a mile from Tabacon Hot Springs. Hotel owners are friendly and willing to accomdate any requests, from dinner recommendations to coordinating tours and day trips.

Special Note: I accidentally left my purse at a table on the patio after breakfast and after checking out. We were 20 minutes away before I realized my purse was missing. By the time we returned to the hotel, Jesse, the owner had already discovered my purse and tucked it away in a safe place. This is a true example of how you can't believe everything you hear - Costa Rica has honest citizens, not everyone is trying to take advantage of you!

Jessenia is the owner and was the nicest person we met on our trip across Costa Rica. Her dogs will also greet you as if you just returned home. Best view in town and decent room. Will definitely stay here again and not look anywhere else.

We were welcomed late in the evening by the most friendly, kind and hospitable woman ever. Even though we were late, Jessenia asked us to sit down and chat to get to know us and then tell us about the property. Her husband then came out and personally drove us to our room, which was only a short walk away but they wanted to take extra care of us since it was dark. The cabins are bright and lovely, clean and very comfortable. The grounds are well kept and boast a terrific view of the volcano. A modest but filling breakfast is included (with terrific fresh milk). We were mostly out on activites from morning 'til night; I wish we'd had more time to sit on the porch and relax amidst the trees, birds, beautiful colors, all with Arenal directly ahead.

Jessenia also helped us with our zipline reservations and got us a rate lower than what the company quoted to us directly. Throughout the two days, she was kind and so very helpful, making extra phone calls to help coordinate our different activities.

I enthusastically recommend Erupciones Inn to anyone staying in the La Fortuna/Arenal area!!!

We've stayed here for three nights, and we loved it. You are truly staying right beneath the volcano. If the weather cooperates (as in our case), the volcano is right in front of you with smoke coming out as well as rumblings (that I will remember for the rest of my life). We stayed in a regular room - there are two rooms for each cottage. It was nice to come back from the tours and relax on the porch - watching the starry nights, hearing the rumblings of volcano, and drinking some whiskey. The room itself was very clean, breakfast was delicious with milk and eggs coming directly from the owners' farm. The owners were very friendly and nice. The hotel is located 100 meters (300 ft) away from El Novillo, and we actually walked there for dinner. Tabacon is about 1 km away, so it's also very close by. We've been to the center of La Fortuna, and it proved to us that we made a right decision by staying away from the town. It's so peaceful and quiet at Erupciones (except for the volcano rumbling). We didn't have a car but still managed to get around. If you go on tours, they pick you from the hotel. Actually, overall in Costa Rica, I felt very relieved that I didn't rent a car as driving here requires a lot of patience.
To sum it up, I would stay again at Erupciones in a heartbeat!
