These are super nostalgic vehicles that are a lot of fun to drive. Mud, water, beaches, you name it, they can do it for you. Nothing fancy, just the real deal. This was my favorite day of our week long visit to Costa Rica. Exciting, some magical moments and SUPER FUN! I recommend this company whole-heartedly. Friendly owner, too!

I loved, very fun..

Due to the positive reviews we had read, we booked Off Road Costa Rica for our Christmas Day experience.

Other than the fact that Ted is a really nice guy, everything else about the day fell far short of "as-advertised". First , the name is a misnomer - we never took the Vintage Land Cruisers off the road. The only time they were even in 4 Wheel Drive is when we were going up a hill within the city limits of Tamarindo to get a view of the expansive beach. 80% of the roads we "explored" (and their accompanying scenery) we had already visited in our first 48 hours there. We had been promised a private beach with marine life. The closest we came to that was a public beach where we watched Ted play fetch with is Golden Retriever. While our Land Cruiser had no mechanical problems the other family on the "adventure" that day had to have their's replaced 3 (three) times due to mechanical failures. We spent precious time during the day looking for a place to eat lunch which we finally did at 4:00pm because Ted was surprised to find his usual establishment was closed on Christmas. In short is was a disappointment at any price, most certainly at the $380.00 which my husband and I paid.

The only way that I can see this would be at all interesting is if you didn't rent a car and this was your only chance to get off an all-inclusive type establishment. Then it would make sense.

Ted and his crew created a memorable experience for our management team. From the moment we were met at the resort to the very end, Ted's professional team guided us through an exciting fun packed afternoon. It's a tie among our attendees whether driving the jeeps through the various terrain or the zip line was the most entertaining. It was all fun and is a must do when you visit this area of Costa Rica.
