“A truly wonderful experience!”

The Cape Cadogan

5 of 5 stars
Bowie, MD

After reading the reviews here on TripAdvisor, my husband and I were excited to book a 5 night stay at Cape Cadogan and our experience there was truly wonderful.

We had the pleasure of staying in the Owner's Villa. The decor was stunning, the rooms were clean, and the service and attention to detail were impeccable. There is a private pool, a full kitchen, living room, bedroom, and separate bath and shower. Nearly every room was adorned with a fresh bouquet of flowers. It was just lovely and it really did feel like a home away from home.

The location is great; close to all of the major sites and only minutes away from the V&A Waterfront where there is some fantastic dining (be sure to visit Sevruga and have their white chocolate martini--amazing!).

Also be sure to bring warm clothes if you are visiting in the winter as the nights get cold and there is no heating system in the villa.

As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words so I have posted some photos of the villa that hopefully capture how great this place really is.

“Excellent Boutique Hotel”

The Cape Cadogan

The Cape Cadogan

We very much enjoyed 6 days at the lovely Cape Cadogan boutique hotel located in a heritage property near Table Mountain.

Our large, thoughtfully decorated room with a good bathroom was very comfortable. Two lovely public rooms offered a fire, free internet computer and, in the evening, free sherry and chocolates.

Breakfast was superb and although no other meals are served we were often offered coffee and biscuits during the day. There are many excellent restaurants within 5 minutes walk.

All the staff members were extraordinarily helpful and friendly. For example, without reference to us, the staff went out and obtained a cardboard cylinder to pack some artificial flowers we had purchased. They refused our offer of payment.

We highly recommend the Cape Cadogan not only for its high quality, but also for its value.

“A Great Place to Stay”

The Cape Cadogan

We spent five nights at this hotel and loved it. The first four nights were in an apartment but we had to move to a main building room for the last night due to late booking.
The apartment was absolutely super, very modern, spacious and well-equipped. It's as close as you can be to restaurants, take-aways and shops but private and secluded nevertheless.
The main room was great....very large and well-equipped but for us the apartment was really special.
The hotel facilities are very good but our main plaudits are for the staff.
We've seldom met such pleasant, professional and helpful people.......nothing was too much trouble and they gave us advice that made our stay in Cape Town memorable.
Thanks!

“Terrific Boutique Hotel”

This was our second stay in the Cape Cadogan. It won't be our last. The main hotel is a charming affair with 12 bedrooms and a lovely small courtyard. On this occasion we booked one of the apartments owned and run by the Cadogan. The apartments are located in a quiet street to the rear of the hotel, and are cleaned daily by staff.

Guests staying in the apartments can avail of all the facilities in the hotel e.g. breakfast, use of the small pool, internet etc.

The Cape Cadogan is located in a trendy part of town with lots of nearby restaurants and bars. Its also within walking distance of the city centre. Staff are very helpful. A stay in either the hotel or the apartments is highly recommended

“One of the best”

The Cape Cadogan

We have recently returned from a six night stay at the Cape Cadogan Hotel in Cape Town. We decided to spend the whole of our short trip in and around Cape Town this time and we were not disappointed. The location of the hotel is excellent for all the "must sees" and it is close to a variety of good restaurants, many within walking distance.
We stayed in a luxury room, which was a good size with a large balcony and overlooked the plunge pool and courtyard at the side. Only one small suggestion would be to have some more comfortable chairs on the balcony. The shower was huge with two shower heads and good toiletries.
Breakfasts were a treat with a good buffet and a hot selection freshly cooked to order. Everything in and about the Cape Cadogan is beautifully presented and puts many of the large 5*s in the shade! Little details like the willingness to bring tea or coffee at any time and the port, nibbles and chocolates laid out in the lounge every evening make a real difference.
Best of all was the delightful staff. Nothing was too much trouble. They arranged trips, taxis, transfers, restaurants very efficiently. Housekeeping was brilliant. All in all we really couldn't fault this hotel and would definitely return. Our friends who live in Cape Town were so impressed that they intend to use the hotel to accommodate overspill visitors too.
Thank you to all at the Cape Cadogan for a wonderful trip.
