“Great hotel in convenient location”

We stayed here for three days preceding an expedition down to Antarctica.

The hotel was very conveniently located in the centre of Buenos Aires and walking distance from the main shops, bars and restaurants. Our room was large, clean and comfortable with panoramic city views.

The staff were very friendly and the service was excellent.

I would definitely stay here again if the opportunity arose.

“Good rooms, poor reception staff”

Sheraton Buenos Aires Hotel & Convention Center

I was staying at this hotel in order to attend a conference nearby and stayed a total of six nights. The lifts from the lobby to the rooms have a mind of their own and queues of frustrated guests regularly form. Even when a lift does come the overload buzzer sounds very readily, well before the 14 occupant limit is reached. My main gripe concerns the rude and offhand way in which my request to change rooms was dealt with. On (eventually) getting to my room the air conditioner was very noisy and obviously faulty. As I was staying six nights I asked to change rooms rather than run the risk of trying to get maintenance to fix it (wisely in retrospect). The receptionist who dealt with me could not have been more offhand and dismissive, he continued to treat me as a complete idiot who was quite obviously wasting his valuable time. By the time I got my room allocated I was boiling! Also they charge the equivalent of $US12 for the litre of bottled water in the room! There are many guests from cruise ships etc and it looks to me as if life is too easy for the management. Individual staff are very good, but indifference and poor attitude stems from the top. I have visited BA a number of times and there are some very nice, smaller and cheaper hotels nearby.

“Average and Safe choice”

Sheraton Buenos Aires Hotel & Convention Center

Having stayed in BsAs several times previously (Sofitel-fantastic, 725-terrible and Moreno-wonderful) this was a “safe” choice and did not disappoint. The check-in (executive level) was good if perfunctory and the room standard as expected with great views. Good breakfast in the busy lounge but the service could have been better. Lounge closes until 2pm when afternoon tea is served; soft drinks are free but there is a charge for any alcoholic beverages which is odd and unheard of I think at this level (particularly in a city where everything is more than reasonable). I would suggest they offer a 6-8 cocktail hour as in most other properties. Good location (apart from having to negotiate the traffic) but the hotel is a little soul-less. Very busy and one never feels particularly welcomed or acknowledged by the staff. Reasonable choice though.

“Some Poor Service But Very Well Recoverd”

Sheraton Buenos Aires Hotel & Convention Center

Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights (business).

The location isn't too bad, usually I would prefer to be closer to the Av Florida Mall. With that said it is only a 5-10 min walk and surrounded by parks. Lets just say I wouldn't recommend against this hotel based on location.

I had some difficulties with the reception staff and the cleanliness of the room. Nothing too major, but regardless I sent thru the Sheration survey quickly mentioning these problems. Within 4 hours I was contacted by the General Manager of the Hotel to address my comments and concerns. He bent over backwards. For this I can only say good things about the Sheraton Hotel BA although I have not yet had the opportunity to return - but will.

Rooms were very reasonable for this type of hotel and the restaurant; business centre staff were exceptional.

I would recommend!

“Great location, great views”

Sheraton Buenos Aires Hotel & Convention Center

The location and views from this hotel are terrific. The staff was friendly and efficient. The deal killer for our stay was the terribly overworked elevators, which made it nearly impossible to get to and from our room. Part of the problem is that the elevators were tiny. The other part was that they were very sensitive to weight limits, and when that limit was reached, the elevator just stopped on a floor and buzzed loudly until people got off.

Morning was the worst when everyone was trying to check out and carrying their baggage. There were times that it took 10-20 minutes to get an elevator that wasn't already full. There appeared to be a lot of large tour groups at the hotel and people were resorting to using the emergency stairways to go up and down 10 or more floors in order not to miss their bus departure times.

Also -- avoid the buffet restaurant (I don't recall the name). The food there was dreadful.
