“Posada de Rosas a B&B with added value”

The Posada opened in June 2007. It is a real find with lots of added value. Owners Ellen and Riccardo are seasoned travelers (Ellen is a veteran travel writer and Riccardo is a world traveler who has spent years in nations around the globe). They know Mendoza city and province. They know what travelers want. They have all the contacts anyone needs to set up tours to bodegas, the city's top restaurants and where to find the best shopping. They did all these things for us. The Posada is completely refurbished and it shows. Am I eccentric because I noticed the modern new fixtures in the bathrooms? Decor is very tasteful and regional and includes personal prizes from their own travels. The Posada is in a quiet residential area within 5 to 10 blocks from the city's main plazas. Highly highly recommended for travelers who enjoy peace and quiet, central walking access, personal service and engaging hosts. And they have a pool.

“All Roses at the Posada de Rosas”

Posada de Rosas

5 of 5 stars
Buenos Aires
Dec 21, 2007

The Posada de Rosas was absolutely fantastic. A real deft combination of luxury and comfort. The place had a wonderful ambiance, what Argentines would call "onda." The garden was lovely, and the pool made for a great refreasher in the hot day sun. The breakfast (included) was wonderful-taken in the garden- and came complete with fresh breads and jams, muesli with ripe peaches and bananas, fresh-squeezed oj and coffee with thick cream. The asado (30 pesos per person) was a true Argentine treat. The staff was excellent, very friendly and attentive. Highly recommended!

“Home Away From Home in Mendoza”

Posada de Rosas

5 of 5 stars
Georgia
Dec 12, 2007

We enjoyed visiting Mendoza and staying at the Posada de Rosas. It’s located on a quiet residential street about a 10 minute walk from downtown Mendoza. It felt like our home-away-from-home in Argentina. There are abundant amenities—crisp sheets, fluffy towels, lotion, shampoo, American television, and a rose all made us feel welcome. We stayed in one of the studio pool-side rooms with a view overlooking the garden. We found it to be very comfortable. The Posada is owned by Americans Ellen and Riccardo who are wonderful about providing information and tips for exploring Mendoza including restaurant and shopping suggestions. They also own “Amazing Mendoza Tours” and can arrange winery tours or an excursion to the Andes. We look forward to visiting again the next time we travel to Mendoza!

“Charming, Welcoming Boutique Hotel”

Posada de Rosas

5 of 5 stars
Bethesda, Maryland

I attended a writing workshop at this lovely small hotel and was delighted to find its staff knowledgeable and affable. The hotel's deceptively unremarkable exterior hides a jewel inside -- comfortable, clean attractive rooms, lovely patio and courtyard with pool, sparkling sun/breakfast room and a relaxing atmosphere. English is spoken by all staff, and the owners make the Posada your home in Mendoza, helping you with arrangements for sightseeing, directions, shopping, restaurants, exercise -- everything.

I highly recommend this charming boutique hotel.

“Authentic, charming and very comfortable!”

Posada de Rosas

Owner Riccardo did an amazing job restoring this old Mendoza house, making it into a picture-perfect small B&B, with only 3 lovely rooms surrounding a swimming pool and beautiful garden in the back. Breakfast is served in the sun room in front of the fireplace (and Riccardo will make eggs any way you like in a country where eggs are never served in the morning!). Stone tiles in the bathrooms, tasteful old furniture and all the modern amenities (including kitchenettes in each room) will make you feel like a Mendocino. Posada is also well connected with Vines of Mendoza, the starting point for many wine travellers in the Mendoza valley, and will happily organize your wine tours. Wonderful & friendly staff is an added bonus. It had only been opened for a few weeks when we stayed there but the hospitality of the staff and the owner made up for the lack of experience. The only downside is that it is in a residential area about 10 min walking from downtown Mendoza, so if you need to be close to the action youu may not appreciate it as much.
