We had an absolutely amazing time at the falls. Take the time to hike out to the island...it was our highlight. Every fall, every viewpoint,
every minute proved to be priceless. I am so glad we did BOTH the Brazilian and Argentinean sides of Iguazu.

The Iguazu Falls are are amazing. We went from Nov. 2-4 and loved the falls. They are amazing! Make sure you have lots of camera memory to take lots of pictures because the views are magnificant. I would allot 1 1/2 or 2 days there so you can go to both sides of the falls since it takes about a 1/2 day on each side of the falls. I suppose you could do both sides in one long day but you may lose some of the enjoyment that way. We went to the Argentina side first, then the Brazilian side the following day. It was worth it to see both sides, since there are different views on each. You can also take boat trips into the smaller side of the falls which is fun and gets you close to the water. The Brazilian side has something called the Macuco Boat which is a raft-like boat tour. We took the boat on the Argentina side which was a speed boat which we felt was fine. The Macuco Boat be a little more adventurous if that's what you want because it is a raft-like boat. In terms of how to arrange all this, we asked our hotel about the tour but they didn't have a large tour happening. They basically said they would hire a car to take us and then add the fees for entrance to the park. We just decided to find a taxi ourselves, which was a little cheaper and worked out fine. He was able to get us through the Argentina border quickly too. We liked him so much we arranged for him for the next day too, for the Brazilian side. I spoke a little bit of Spanish as did he, so this worked out fine for us, but most of the taxi drivers spoke little English, so this may be a problem for other travelers. The taxi cost us about $70 round trip (he dropped us off at the park and came back in 5 hrs to pick us up).

Another place I would highly recommend is the Bird Park on the Brazil side- it is on the way to the falls and has lots of great birds and reptiles. Definitely worth it I thought, as it added a little bit of wildlife to the mix.

Other than the above, our extra time we had left was on a Sunday, so all the shops were closed so we couldn't explore the town much. I don't think there is much else to do there though. Oh, and by the way, we took TAM airlines in/out of Iguazu, and there were delays both ways, so just keep that in mind as a possibility when planning. Hope this helps!

When I visited the Iguazu Falls area in Argentina, I was blown away. It is definately the trip of a lifetime. The weather was excellent. Besides the humid air, it was quite nice. I would reccommend this destination to anyone who loves a great view.
