We booked our trip from BA to Iguazu through Esteban at BA Private Tours. It turned out to be a great value, easy transportation from airport to Hotel Cataratas, which was ample accommodations and had a great pool area. The falls were of course unbelievable and we just stayed on the Argentina side, we spent 2 full days at the park and thought it was the perfect amount of time. Make sure to get up early one day and head straight to San Martin Island, we were surrounded by rainbows at 8am. Highly recommend BA Private Tours, we had no issues and had a great trip.

Loved the Parque on the Argentine side, definitely go on the boat trip that goes into the falls and walk in the Parque. Stay all day and you can see birds on the walk to the Biggest falls...but avoid the driving tours in the parque or just outside the parque in the Selva. They are ripoffs.

“Beware Wow Argentina”

We were impressed with the falls - who wouldn't be, but we had to struggle as we felt that we were grossly overcharged by Wow Argentina. They charged us a huge amount of money for very little services. Our advice to others - make your own arrangements.

I noticed most of your reviews mentioned staying on the Argentina side of the falls.I am an American living in Rio de Janeiro.(Retired). We go there often on Brazilian side. The airport on the Brazilian side is less than 10 miles from the falls. There are great hotels & restraunts in Foz do Iguacu. From your hotel there you can drive to the falls, Argentina, and Paraguay, all very close.Argentina has a nice little casino/hotel just across the border that stays open all night. Paraguay has some great shopping & no border checks, no excess tax. Electronics cheap there. We usually stay there 4 or 5 days each time, Great fun.

What an amazing location....

Makes Niagara seem soooo small. I stayed in Puerto Igauzu. Took the local bus out for 2 consecutive days. Really glad I had the extra day as had a much more relaxed pace on day 2. Was able to just sit back and wait for tour groups to pass and thus get some viewpoints almost to myself. Going the second day meant that I saw a lot more wildlife - hummingbirds, crocodile like creatures (forget their name sorry) and so many butterflies.

Did the Jungle Adventure- only pay for the jet boat, a lot of fun. the 4x4 is really boring, and ours crashed into another lorry 'cos their radios weren't working.

I got a taxi to the Brazillian side on the afternoon I first arrived, only took me 2 hours to wander the tracks there. Cost of $150 pesos didn't seem too much given that the taxi driver waited for me whilst I took my time and skipped the queue for me when buying my entry ticket (queue was very long).

Tip: Take lots of water- much cheaper to fill up in town than in the park. On my 2nd day I used my camelback, which was fantasticand meant that I doubled my water intake and felt a lot better for it. I also walked to Garganta falls rather than took the Train, early in morning it's still cool enough to walk, only takes 25 mins and avoids the crowds and queues. Path is a roadway so absolutely flat.
