The Design Suites are very beautiful and the views outstanding. The staff, however, needs a full makeover. Service is the worst I have ever seen in this hotel category, or even lower.

At the buffet-style breakfast, empty trays sat for a long time, even after asking the staff to refill them. The scrambled eggs were gross and cold. One night we left the bar after waiting half an hour for a Martini that never arrived. We had a massage that was at best boring. Checkout can only be done after you have left the room (they need to make sure you do not steal anything from the mini-bar!) and takes forever.

We had a similar experience at the El Calafate Design Suites. Management needs to get their act together because is a shame such nice locations deliver such a disappointing experiences.

You can't beat the view out the bedroom window and the ammenties in the room were ok and the room was very spacious. Plenty of hot water to fill up the jacuzzi... Room service was average, the WiFi was spotty in the room and the food and service in the restaurant was worthy of a 1 star hotel instead of a 5. If you want fried eggs rather than the gross scrambled eggs that have been sitting under the heater for the past two hours, you get charged extra. We even had to bus the table one morning while the lovely Argentine waitress stood behind the bar chatting. Given the cost and the overall experience, I will stay somplace else next time.

I stayed here with my husband and two friends for several nights in November. The entrance is hard to find off the main road, but once there, we were very pleasantly surprised. The rooms were fairly large and were identical in size and amenities: king bed, plenty of space for luggage, in-room safe, nice size vanity with plenty of space for toiletries, shower and toilet in one room, nice plush towels, including cozy bathrobes placed at the jacuzzi facing a lovely unobscured view. I understand from other reviews that some rooms do not come with jacuzzis or views, so I suggest you check this with the hotel when booking. We found the front desk spoke adequate English, and were conscientious and eager to please. We ate a dinner and several breakfasts in the hotel in the large dining area with beautiful views. Sofas at the panoramic windows are inviting but not the best place to eat. Both dinner and breakfasts were very good. There wasn't enough wait staff, so that those serving seemed harried but eager to please. There are two computers in the lobby with free Internet access, but they were often hard to access because of the number of guests trying to use them. I would recommend staying here.

my husband and I stayed here recently on a visit to Bariloche. we would difinitley recommend it. The views from the main 'club house' are fantastic and the bedrooms are well decorated. We were not lucky enough to have a jacuzzi in our room, but did have one in our bathroom which was really well equipped. the hotel is a little out of town with just 2 shuttles from the hotel each day, we had a hire car so this did not affect us. All in all this is a really nice place to stay with a good breakfast a nice choice of wines to enjoy every evening.
