“Adored Villa Huidid”

Villa Huinid Resort and Spa

Dec 27, 2007

My husband and I just got back from a five night stay at the Villa Huidid and we loved it. In fact, I think it's one of the nicest places I've ever stayed. We booked a one bedroom cottage, with a kitchen, grill, fireplace, and one and a half bathrooms. The bedroom was lovely, as was the master bath. The only thing I would have liked would have been some chaise lounges on the deck so we could sit outside and relax.

The staff was amazing as well, especially in the spa. Everyone was so helpful and accommodating. The buffet breakfast was the best of all the places we stayed in Argentina--my favorite part were the pots of different flavored jams.

The hotel is about 2.5 km from town, definitely walkable, although maybe not at night. I thought they had a shuttle to and from town, but it wasn't running when we were there. In any case, it's a ten peso cab ride.

We ate in the restaurant twice--the food was very good, but it was very hot--i don't think they have ac.

Overall, a wonderful place.

“Great Chalets”

Villa Huinid Resort and Spa

Our family of 4 adults stayed here in mid Oct, just as spring was arriving - snow still on the hills. The view across the lake was fabulous.

We stayed in one of the chalets (small house!) in the grounds of the hotel. It was well equipped, warm and cosy. Each morning the super efficient and friendly cleaners came and restored our chaos to tidy and clean and then did the washing up!

The buffet breakfast was good quality and extensive and was at the hotel 3-5 minutes walk away.

The reception staff were very helpful and friendly and booked taxis and excursions for us.

The restaurant food (we ate in one evening) was was good but not great.

This is a great hotel, very comfortable with excellent staff to help plan your day. The hotel is very modern and room well presented. The gym, internet room, swimming pool and spa are all excellent. Could have no complaints about the breakfast either.

“Visit the Llao Llao but stay at the Villa Huinid”

Villa Huinid Resort and Spa

Aug 8, 2007
4/4 found this review helpful

Having stayed at the Llao Llao on two previous occasions, we were disappointed to find the hotel closed the week we visited. However, disappointment turned to delight with our outstanding stay at the Villa Huinid. Traveling as a family, we opted for one of the cottages. We stayed in a two-bedroom cottage that boasted spectacular and breathtaking views across the Lake. The cottage had a very lodge-like feel, with liberal use of wood and stone throughout. The second floor bedroom had a beautiful cathedral ceiling. Two of the threee (yes, 3) bathrooms had heated floors. The kitchen was rudimentary but contained everything necessary to cook and grill out on the attached deck if so desired. The family room contained a fireplace and a rustic sofa/day bed. All of this space came at a price better than their hotel rooms - and much less than a room at the Llao Llao.

It is highly recommended that you rent a car if you choose to stay at the Huinid, but a very affordable taxi service is available through the hotel. They also have rental cars available on site, but you might do better at the airport.

Although we stayed in a cottage, all hotel amentities were available to us. The breakfast buffet with its attentitive staff was only a very small step down in experience from the Llao Llao - which is to say that it was excellent and should not be missed. The indoor pool and sauna areas are top notch as well.

However, there were a couple small issues. Making reservations on-line via the Huinid's web site turned out to be somewhat complicated. We did not receive any confirmation from the hotel that received the information. We eventually called to follow up. Their english speaking staff was very courteous. They confirmed that all information went through and they later sent a formal confirmation back to us via email. Also, if you anticipate using the internet in their office center, expect a really slow connection. It was almost better to go use an internet cafe downtown.

If you are an independent traveler and want a rustic, yet elegant experience in Bariloche, a cottage at the Villa Huinid is one of the best.

“Great hotel in a lovely setting”

Villa Huinid Resort and Spa

This is an excellent hotel, immaculate in every detail. The staff is very helpful, friendly and professional. They did everything to ensure that we had a memorable stay. Rooms very spacious and quiet - rooms at the back overlook beautifully lanscaped terraced garden. Location is very good, 2,5 km from town and very convenient.
Of the 9 hotels we stayed in, the breakfast buffet was the best by far in both choice and quality.

Make sure you eat in Naan Restaurant at least once - staff recommended.
