The hotel is located about 10 minutes away from downtown, which is fine. There isn't much to do in downtown (at least when we were there in late September). There is a free shuttle that runs a few times a day (and at night). But a cab ride only costs about US$2-3.

The rooms and bathrooms are a good size (KING BEDS!) and were clean. An in-room safe would have been nice, but the hotel appeared to be very safe. The views from the room, common areas, restaurants, etc. were fantastic and added to the relaxing feel of the hotel. The free breakfast wasn't great (but is good enough to get you going). We had dinner at the hotel one night and it was pretty good. Not expensive in U.S. standards, but much pricier than if we ate in town.

We were only in Ushuaia for two nights, and based on all the other hotels we saw while we were there, we felt we made the best choice.

The hotel is not thrilling but it is clean and comfortable and the staff are super friendly. The spa bath was a welcome surpise and we used it often to counter-effect the cold weather!

Another bonus was the courtesy bus into the town centre which was very regular.

But by far the best thing about this hotel is its location, initially we were a little worried about being so far out of the town centre (5 mins by car), but those fears disappeared the moment we saw the natural beauty surrounding the hotel and the amazing views from the bedrooms and breakfast room - the Beagle Canal, snowcapped mountains etc.

Don´t expect much from breakfast although the view does make up for it!
