After a great B&B experience in Ireland a couple of years ago, I booked a five night stay at Boots and Saddles for my husband and me based primarily on the postings on TripAdvisor. The setting, rooms and the hosts exceeded any and all expectations!
First, you must read the beautifully written review of Boots and Saddles dated April 17, 2008.
We stayed in both the City Slickers and El Dorado rooms. Both were great, but we preferred the City Slickers room, which was larger and included its own living room. The El Dorado room includes an outdoor hot tub in its own private patio. You really can't go wrong with either one!
I can't say enough nice things about Irith, Sam and Candyce. We were made to feel so welcome by all, and I shed a few tears when we had to leave such a beautiful and welcoming place! Sam's advice about what to see and do was invaluable, and I recommend you also adhere to his advice not to plan anything about your Sedona trip until I you arrive.
Both Sam and Irith recommended wonderful restaurants and other sightseeing/hiking/beautiful places to visit both in Sedona, and traveling to/from the Grand Canyon and Phoenix. My recommendation is to book your room and leave the rest of your itinerary planning to your hosts!
We also met some very fun and nice fellow guests at a couple of impromptu cocktail parties we held (with my sister and her husband, who also stayed at Boots and Saddles) in the B&B's lovely patio. One night eight of us ended up at dinner for a great meal and company at a wonderful restaurant just a short distance away called the Heartline Cafe (recommended by Sam and visited by us twice).
If you go to Sedona (and you should), you must stay here.
