Basin Park Hotel

Jun 14, 2008

This our second stay at this hotel, the previous one about six years ago. If you want the ultimate no-hassle stay in Eureka Springs, the Basin Hotel is where to be.

I'm particularly writing to endorse Room 102, or "The Balcony Suite". The balcony overlooking Basin Park makes this room the best in Eureka Springs. There's nothing like having that space to your self, but in the middle of all the action: perfect for people-watching. The room's tasteful decor makes it a rarity in this town. The two person tub and two person shower are bonuses, and it's the easiest room in the house to get to from the lobby.

The hotel is historic, meaning it has charm, but it has rough spots due to age: thin walls/ceilings, imperfect refurbishing, etc. These are fairly insignificant issues. I'd rather stay in a somewhat flawed space with history and character than a flawless room that's like all the others.

The only real flaw with the room is the sink area. The counter is slightly higher than standard counter height, to allow for the fridge and microwave to fit underneath. My tall wife liked it, but with the modern, above-the-counter bowl sink, the overall height of the sink was awkward.

Staff was friendly and helpful. Valet was timely. Maid service left new towels on our door daily despite us keeping our "do not disturb" sign up for the duration.

“The 1905 Basin Hotel in Eureka Springs”

Basin Park Hotel

5 of 5 stars
Springfield, MO

Eureka Springs is a magical town with such unique shops and lovely twisting streets that have some of the most beautiful and architectually different homes. And some fantastice views also.

We were just there last weekend for a wedding that took place at the Basin's sister hotel, The Crescent Hotel. Both are very old but well taken care of hotels with tons of interesting history! The Basin is more in our price range and we had a very nice room with a comfortable king sized bed.

Most important was the quality of service we received. The wedding was to take place at 2:00 pm on Sunday and check in time is at 3:00! We would be driving 2 hours and really wanted to be able to freshen up before the wedding. We told them our plight and were soooo pleased that they did indeed have a room ready for us to check in at 12:30. They also have a parking lot that they have you park in and then they shuttle you to the hotel. They were very timely in picking us up and taking us back plus shuttling us to and from the Crescent. We found everyone at the Basin to be fun and pleasant and helpful. The Balcony restaurant was nice, food not sensational but good. And there is a bar at the top of the hotel where we finished off our "good times!"

All in all a very, very fun trip and of course we will return and stay at the Basin!

“Convenient historic hotel right next to hub of Eureka springs”

Basin Park Hotel

Always a pleasure staying at the Basin Park Hotel. Rooms are always clean, ready to occupy, and are conveniently easy to access when visiting the locals pub & shops. Friendly staff readily available to transfer you from the steep hills of Eureka to your car or hotel room. We always come back!

“Basin Park Hotel”

While staying at the Basin Park Hotel, we found it to be a need step back in time. The room was clean and at the end of a long day, the beds were very inviting and comfortable. However, the parking was terrible. We used valet parking and was charged $10.00 for the night. The problem, the hotel gave tickets to see a passion play that ended at 10:30pm, valet service ends at 10:00pm. So of course we had to find a place to park for the night. I can say, I would go back to Eureka Springs but would not stay at the Basin Park Hotel.

“Great weekend at Basin Park Hotel”

Basin Park Hotel

5 of 5 stars

My husband and I recently spent a weekend at the Basin Park Hotel and had a wonderful experience. We chose the Spa Package, which was an excellent deal. The room was roomy yet cozy, clean, quiet, and nice, and our Duet Massage was incredibly relaxing. Customer service at the hotel and spa was excellent. After our reservation was made, we received both confirmation phone calls and emails, as well as information on what to do in the area and at our hotel during our stay. We stayed on the fourth floor, steps away from a small balcony overlooking the Basin Spring Park where you can often hear live music. The primary appeal of the Basin Park Hotel is its historic value and walking distance to everything in the Historic District of town. This is not a hotel for someone who is looking for the most modern furnishings or amenities although it does have basics (cable TV). However it is the perfect place for anyone who enjoys staying in places with character and history. The Balcony Bar Restaurant of the hotel is a fantastic place to take a break for a drink or full meal; very comfortable covered open-air patio that offers great views of the streets below and often has live music as well. Have already recommended this hotel to several others and will continue to do so.
