We were in town for a wedding at the Crescent Hotel, and the Comfort Inn was suggested to us. We decided to reserve a non-smoking king suite with jacuzzi. We were hoping for the Tower Penthouse, we instead got the Southern Comfort suite next door. We arrived at noon, check in isn't until 3pm, but our room was ready. The hotel staff was very informative throughout our stay, we had multiple questions for directions around the area. The room was not worth $143 + tax (AAA discount). The TV is not viewable from bed, the bathroom was extremely small and the room itself was a smoking room (ashtrays everywhere) and not well kept. The housekeeping staff had left a used towel on the sink and the room lacked any shine at all. There were gouges in the wall and in the back of the door. The bed was hard as a rock and the 3 tiny pillows were basically not even there. The decor was old and in bad condition. We were really hoping for something more (especially after taxes it was $163!).
The breakfast in the Victorian room was great, but I do agree that this is not a hotel for anyone with handicaps. Neither is the town, but the breakfast area should be handicap accessible. (I didn't see an elevator for that building, as it's not connected to the main hotel). The jacuzzi tub was HUGE, larger than one I've ever seen before. It was the size of a hot tub, only as a jacuzzi. Two people can be completely comfortable, but be careful as the bottom is extremely slippery. No non-skid stick-on pads, no wall mounted rails. And the control for the jets is far from the tub, hardly reachable from the edge of the tub if you're already in.
For my money, next time we're going to look elsewhere to stay for that price.
