“Wet beds and damp floors”

Comfort Inn

1 of 5 stars
Dillon, Texas
Jul 10, 2007

We stayed just one night at this motel and would never return. The below window air conditioner seemed as though it was putting out a mist of cool water. The bedding felt wet and if you went barefoot on the floor you could feel the moisture. If you do stay here make sure you get a room on the pool side instead of the front side because you won't be able to sleep with all of the motorcycle traffic going by all night. The breakfast buffet was nothing special at all and as previous raters stated it is a walk down some rock steps to get to. That was okay with us but you have difficulty walking this would not work for you. The location is good but there are lots of places to stay that are as good or better.

“Nice motel and location is a plus”

Comfort Inn

Oct 23, 2006

Requested reservations on-line for non-smoking room and had a confirmation, but when we arrived, they only had a smoking room available. Front desk personnel said Comfort Inn on-line does that to them all the time. But, we looked at the room and it actually didn't smell too bad so we took it. The front desk young man was helpful, but the other two that we dealt with were not very willing to answer any questions; how far to a place, good restaurant, etc. I asked how far to Branson and the young woman working during the day didn't have a clue. And, didn't seem to want to help either. The breakfast was good and the dining room was really nice. Only two waffle irons so it can get a little backed up, but everything is spotless. The cook there is to be commended for staying on top. Oh, the quiches were very good, but don't look for any meat in anything. We were on second floor and heard noise from above so if you are a light sleeper, you might ask for the top floor. I was apalled the cleaning crew left an envelope for a tip with a note stuck to the front if we needed anything to let her know. I would definitely stay there again, but wouldn't depend on the front desk personnel for ANYTHING.

“Not quite worth the price”

Comfort Inn

2 of 5 stars
Springfield, MO
Oct 1, 2006

We were in town for a wedding at the Crescent Hotel, and the Comfort Inn was suggested to us. We decided to reserve a non-smoking king suite with jacuzzi. We were hoping for the Tower Penthouse, we instead got the Southern Comfort suite next door. We arrived at noon, check in isn't until 3pm, but our room was ready. The hotel staff was very informative throughout our stay, we had multiple questions for directions around the area. The room was not worth $143 + tax (AAA discount). The TV is not viewable from bed, the bathroom was extremely small and the room itself was a smoking room (ashtrays everywhere) and not well kept. The housekeeping staff had left a used towel on the sink and the room lacked any shine at all. There were gouges in the wall and in the back of the door. The bed was hard as a rock and the 3 tiny pillows were basically not even there. The decor was old and in bad condition. We were really hoping for something more (especially after taxes it was $163!).

The breakfast in the Victorian room was great, but I do agree that this is not a hotel for anyone with handicaps. Neither is the town, but the breakfast area should be handicap accessible. (I didn't see an elevator for that building, as it's not connected to the main hotel). The jacuzzi tub was HUGE, larger than one I've ever seen before. It was the size of a hot tub, only as a jacuzzi. Two people can be completely comfortable, but be careful as the bottom is extremely slippery. No non-skid stick-on pads, no wall mounted rails. And the control for the jets is far from the tub, hardly reachable from the edge of the tub if you're already in.

For my money, next time we're going to look elsewhere to stay for that price.

“Not bad at all”

Comfort Inn

Sep 4, 2006

Wow! For a Comfort Inn, this place is definitely way above the usual.

Very comfortable and quiet right on a main highway thru Eureka Springs, so the location is great. Free breakfast of waffles, fruit, quiche, etc made the place even more affordable.

Only one negative; didn't get a wakeup call first morning and no one we spoke to about it offered an apology. However, 2nd morning we got a wakeup call just fine.

All in all, a VERY positive and pleasant stay.

“Pleasant Stay”

Comfort Inn

4 of 5 stars
Bethany, Oklahoma
Jul 24, 2006

We were very pleased with our two night stay at the Comfort Inn. The photographs on the Inn's website were very accurate and representative of the property. Our room was clean and modern, the garden area exceded our expectations and the breakfast was well above average. (One negative was that coffee stored in one of the pump pots was luke warm). Otherwise the quiche, waffles and muffins were very good. Fruit was fresh and sweet. True, as noted by others, you have to walk down several stairs to get to the breakfast room, however if this is an issue, you probably shouldn't be coming to Eureka Springs in the first place because nothing is level in this town. Staff was courteous and responsive when I requested extra pillows and they even mailed my wife's cell phone charger which she had forgotten on checkout. For any future visits to Eureka Springs, we'll certainly consider the Comfort Inn.
