This is a great little botique hotel on the beach in Cabarete. It is located on the end of the beach that is sheltered from the afternoon wind. There is a very good "super mercado" only a short block away. The hotel is very reasonably priced and the people that own and run the hotel treat you like you are visiting there home. (Since they live on the premises; you actually are!) Peter Orr and his wife Sylvia own the hotel. They are very personable people and always bend over backwards to make you feel at home. If you need something they make sure that your needs are attended to. Michael, Peter's brother, tends to the physical plant and is always there to answer questions and to do his magic to make the place run correctly. It is really great that everyone speaks English and Spanish. We spent 8 wonderful days there. We have stayed at other hotels and timeshare resorts over the last 8 years that we have been going to Cabarete. But, this is the best experience that we have had.
We had came to Cabarete after a two week stay in a luxury hotel in San Juan, Puerto Rico. It was refreshing to come into this intimate environment after the impersonal large hotel experience. We hope to return next year and see our friends at the Hotel Alegria. We highly recommend this hotel as a place to enjoy the beauty, tranquility and charm of Cabarete.
