My husband and I are platinum Marriott Members which means we stay in excess of 75 room nights a year at Marriott Hotels and this is, without question, the worst hotel in the chain. The first room they checked us into was next to an ice machine, and had not yet been cleaned. The next room was clean but tiny. Two people couldn't walk past each other at the same time....and we are both petite people. The mattress had a hole in the middle which one of us invaribly fell into at night. The lighting was poor and the carpet dirty. The a/c was loud and the room smelled musty.
As for the airport shuttle, it showed up 20 minutes late and there were so many people that waiting that not every could fit on -- at 5:25 am! The driver was supposed to go by the Hyatt as well but the bellstaff demanded he go straight to the airport. He still tried to go to the Hyatt but one guest on-board walked up to the driver and asked if he was going to strap people to the hood because there wasn't even standing room available. Others onboard said that the shuttle FROM the airport had either bypassed them or shut the door in their face. So don't count on the free shuttle as transportation to SFO.
The room service food was delivered cold. The Concierge lounge was out of food during happy hour (supposedly 5 - 7) by 6 and put out one dessert offering at 7:30. One cake for a roomful of people. Very nice touch.
All in all a miserable experience.
