Worth the drive to this unique restaurant. It's not your typical chain restaurant. It's family owned and operated for 39 years. Great mesquite steaks (from 6oz filets to 20oz porterhouse and everything in between) and homemade stuffed baked potatoes worth the calories, steak and lobster or crab legs, fresh fish daily, ribs and chops. I like that they offer New England clam chower everyday not only on Fridays. They also offer a soup of the day as well. The atmosphere is great, low lighting, sawdust on the floor, antiques throughout and a warm and friendly staff. If your looking for something different and delightful instead of the usual chain restrauants, be sure and check this Santa Clarita tradition out. You won't be disappointed. I love family owned restarants best of all. You usually get the best food and experience from them. Unfortunately, they can't keep up with the chains and soon all we'll have to choose from in each town are the chain "Stepford" restaurants. They're good...no surprises but it's the same thing in every city with no individuality. Support the mom and pop places. The Backwoods Inn is a gem up Sierra Highway in Santa Clarita.
