Off the main track, so it took a local to recommend this wonderful Italian restaurant with service on an A+ level, good wine with knowledgeable servers. The setting is in a lovely Tuscan reproduction casa, with bar at parking lot level, restaurant above, outside seating in good weather. The food met the promise of the warm and lush decor. Carefully prepared sauces, unique touches to the food. Not exorbitant either! Because the building is set well back from the road, it is easy to miss, so drive slowly. Reservations likely recommended for peak hours and weekends.

Buscaglia's has been a Jackson institution for many years. Visitors will be amazed at the changes in this venerable restaurant. Prior to Janauary of '07 the restaurant was in a building right on Jackson Gate Road. Now it is a short distance away from the road up a hillside. It is in new buildings that are a fantasy Tuscan village. It really looks like something out of Disneyworld.
The menu has been updated to high end modern Italian. I think that the flavors are fresh and very tasty. The wine list is more than adequate with a lot of Sierra Foothills selections. Desserts are traditional and from what I saw, very good.
Service is careful and professional.
Buscaglia's is certainly worth trying when in Jackson.
