“Nice Hotel - good location in Hollywood”

We stayed at this hotel for two nights having arrived into LAX before driving off to Scottsdale. As we'd never visited LA I read a lot of reviews of what district to stay in as well as which hotel. In the end, following reviews of this property here we booked club level rooms at the Rennaissance Hollywood.

Firstly I would say Hollywood is a pretty good place to base yourself for a first time visit to LA. It pretty is what LA is all about - we did the bus tour, a limo tour of star's homes and the Madame Taussads and Guiness World of Records attractions, which are right on the doorstep of this hotel. So it is very well placed.

Self parking was $10 a day in the big parking next door - where there were also loads of shops and a cinema. The check-in staff were very polite and helpful.

Room itself was pretty good - quite small for a 'suite' - once a single fold out bed was up there wasn't a lot of room. Also the door to the bathroom opened outward which was unusual, and automatically closed which the kids didn't like. The blind which covered the window was a bit tatty but still worked well to shut out the morning sunlight. Beds were very comfortable though

The club lounge was good - with good snacks in the evening and a very good breakfast. Not too busy either. There was one member of staff in there but he didn't 'interact' with anyone, just sat watching his PC screen.

I was talked into booking a stretch limo by the concierge to see the 'homes of the stars'. This was a rip off however (Topline I think it was). The driver wasn't that interested - we didn't see half the houses mentioned on the blurb and we finished 30 minutes early! When you're paying that sort of money you expect better. I fed this back to the concierge who took my details and said he'd be in touch although he never has.

Overall I mentioned some of the negative points but our overwhelming impression was of a lovely hotel with pleasant staff in a superb Hollywood location. Would I go back? Absolutely!

We satyed in a Club level Room for 2 nights as part of our honeymoon. We were quite high up with a view of the hollywood sign in the far distance.

Looking back, the free breakfast that came as part of the club room deal wasn't worth the extra money and we didn't use any of the other services so a normal room would probably been enough.

We were only in Hollywood for 2 days so didn't spend much time in the hotel, but it is in a very good location near the Hollywood walk of fame and the Kodak theater.

This hotel never fails to make our stays comfortable and the staff are friendly and helpful.
Room had great views , was large, BRIGHT clean and had everything we needed during our stay.
Cannot recommend enough.
The hotel has become a home from home for us.
During this trip we had to stay at a nearby hotel for a couple of days, which was as different as night to day...we almost ran to get back to the Renaissance.Enough said.

“Classic Hotel with only one small problem.....”

Renaissance Hollywood Hotel

Really stylish and high quality hotel in hollywood. Flew into Burbank airport on jet blue and was at the hotel in less than 20 minutes. we arrived early and had no problem with early check in.

I was on the 18th floor with a perfect, perfect view of the hollywood sign. view was flawless.

the room was big and clean. they left a bucket of candy on my bed as a nite time turndown surprise.

only problem was no flat panel tv in the room - i expected one.

staff friendly hotel excellent - HIGHLY Recommended.

if you're going to stay here and can fly into burbank, do it - perfect combination. if you have time, there's an in and out burger in burbank right by the airport - big winner......

“Lives up to Renaissance standards”

My mom and I stayed at the Renaissance for a weekend trip. It is a fabulous hotel, convenient to Hollywood attractions and near a light rail stop. The service was exceptional and friendly. Our room was a decent size on the 9th floor and looked out towards the Hollywood sign. There were wooden blinds, as well as a blinder to keep the early morning sun out of the room. We ordered room service one night, and the food was pretty good -- Twist has an eclectic menu with many things to choose. It only took 20 minutes for the food to arrive. I also took advantage of Spa Luce in the hotel, and it was incredible. The spa is beautiful, relaxing, and offers a diverse menu of treatments. Very impressed with the new spa. There is an outdoor pool on the 5th floor, which offers comfortable lounge chairs, as well as private cabanas. The beds in the room are the updated Marriott beds and EXTREMELY comfortable. The hotel is connected to the Hollywood/Highland complex, which offers a bit of shopping and restaurants (highly recommend Trastavere), and you can catch a shuttle to the Pantages theater from the complex. Valet parking through the hotel is $29/day, but there is a parking garage as part of the of the Hollywood/Highland complex for $10/day if you want to self park.

Overall, it was an excellent stay. The only downside is the $9.95 charge for internet, which seems to be a common theme in Los Angeles.
