Hotel is clean and secure, and easy to find. In Korea town, it was right where we wanted to be, one block off Wilshire. Staff was very pleasant. Continental breakfast was just that-- don't expect a sous chef. Room was adequate, beds comfortable. There was peeling paint in the bathroom, and the tub needed re-finishing and drained slow. Great water pressure though. There is a fridge in the room and free HBO. Free Wi-Fi in lobby. If you're some hoity-toity type, don't stay here, but if you just want someplace clean to sleep while you conduct your buissiness, this is a good deal!

The year old reviews stated that the place smelled bad and that the exercise room did not exist as advertised. I didn't read the reviews until just before our stay. Well as of May, 2007 the exercise room was still being "renovated" and the rooms still smelled bad. I rented two rooms for myself and my accompanying staff and both rooms were supposed to be nonsmoking, but smelled of stale tobacco or mold. We reserved for three days and wanted to check out after the first. Because of the delay of finding alternate accommodations and being in our continuing education course we checked out about one hour late, were dinged for 50% penalty! Front desk clerk cold, rude and blunt in an asian sort of way. We certainly got what we paid for, but I think there must be other motels in this price bracket that smell better!
My toilet was clogged before its first use, the bathroom door wouldn't close all of the way because of numerous coats of paint,

Booked 3 night stay thru Choice Hotels. ALtho this place was a little more expensive, the web site stated there was a gym, whirlpool, and sauna, as well as internet access. Not only were NONE of these things available, the elevator was broken the entire time we were there, the wiring for the door lock was hanging out of the door, the sink backed up black gunk, and the place smelled. It was obvious they rent rooms to the local talent. I was on vacation with my 15 yr old dtr and this was NOT a family vacation site! Complaints to management went ignored. In fact, I was told if I didn't like it I could go someplace else, but it would take 2-3 wks to get a refund. I couldn't afford to just pick up and go somewhere else. I have filed a complaint with Choice Hotels as well as the CA Attorney General. False advertising to lure unsuspecting out of state tourists should be punished! The only positive aspect of the place was that the room was kept reasonably clean. Housekeeping was very good at removing all of the black gunk spewed up from the sink trap every day.

After considerable discussion with the hotel staff, they confirmed my reservation for May 9, 2006. When my wife and I checked in at about 4 p.m., we were shocked beyond relief to be told by the reception that the hotel was overbooked and they would find me an alternate hotel! That put us into considerable inconvenience. I chose to cancel the reservation and put upwith the inconvenience.

The bottom line is no matter what the excuses were, this hotel is staffed by unprofessional ones who do not care for the customer comfort and convenience. This is my last visit to this terrible hotel!
