Hi, we stayed at the Beverly Garland for 4 nights. Here's my thoughts...

Location- Near freeway, but we were not bothered by the traffic noise at all. Extremely close to Universal Studios- Great complimentary hotel shuttle to the studios. North Hollywood is a beautifully clean area, that is a lot safer than other parts of LA.

Service- Very professional. Everything was slick and polished! Friendly front desk and doormen.

Amenities- We did not end up trying the pool, sauna or tennis courts, but they looked good! There is also a gift shop on site which comes in handy.

Tourist info- You can book tours and get area info from the gift shop on site.

Food- The hotel has a on site restaurant/cafe which has excellent food and very friendly and eager to please staff. They are very good with handling children too... There was also a splash bar on the property. A 5-10minute walk down the road to supermarket and some takeaway shops.

Room- Regular size. Nice beds. Good maid service.

Advice- If you're planning on playing on the tennis courts you must be wearing proper tennis shoes, otherwise you will not be allowed on. The laundry room is a bit hard to find, so ask for specific directions.
Most tour companies will pick you up from this hotel.
The front desk is always busy, so try using their quick check out. A lot of functions and meetings happen at this hotel, so be careful that you don't accidentally walk into one!

My teenage daughter and I stayed at Beverly Garland's Holiday Inn while vacationing in the Los Angeles area. We visited Universal Studios, Hollywood, and Burbank, and found the hotel to be centrally located. The highlight of my experience of this hotel was the comfortable bed. Although I chose not to take advantage of it, the hotel offered a "pillow menu" giving us the opportunity to change the type of pillows we had depending on whether we slept on our back, side, etc. The staff was extremely friendly right down the the security guard. The room was a little small, but clean. The grounds were clean, and there were a lot of trees around the hotel. The only real disadvantage I could find to our room was the level of freeway traffic noise. The hotel is located right next to a major freeway, and I had a little difficulty getting to sleep the first night we stayed. I purchased ear plugs for our second night, but didn't end up using them because I fell asleep pretty quickly after sinking into our comfy bed. We ate at Tulas on our second evening. The food was pretty good, but a little overpriced for what we got. Overall, I considered our stay at this hotel a positive experience.

My wife and I enjoyed staying at this excellent hotel and will definitely stay there again whenever we are in Los Angeles.

The room was excellent and the staff were pleasant and helpful. The facilities including restaurant, bar, grounds and laundry were excellent.

We were impressed by the number of people we saw who were maintaining the hotel and grounds to a very high standard.

Above average for a Holiday Inn and a hotel with character.

Ideal for exploring Hollywood, near to the Metro and buses for getting to the Main tourist attractions yet located in aquiet part of Hollywood so that you can relax after a day out.
Rooms are very clean and comfortable and have tea service, TV etc. Nice restaurant/coffe shop and bar although becomes crowded at breakfast.
Nice pool with plenty of shade.
