“Great hotel! 100% Satisfied!”

Courtyard Los Angeles-San Fernando Valley

The quality of this hotel is excellent. I was traveling with my mother, sister and grandmother on a family vacation to Los Angeles. The hotel and rooms are very clean and nicely decorated, it has a contemporary decor (not old fashioned). The room was very spacious. The bathroom was a comfortable size and very clean. The water pressure in the shower was great too.

The location is great, 5 miles from the Getty Museum, 14 miles from the airport, 9 miles from Hollywood.... just minutes away from all the attractions. The surrounding area is nice with plenty of restaurants and shops near by. It is next to a freeway but you do not hear passing cars from the room, outside noise is not a problem. The main attractions (Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, Airport, Studios, Getty Museum, etc) are only a short drive away. When the traffic is good it only takes about 10-15 minutes to get to most of these places. Traffic can sometimes be pretty bad, so when heading to the airport especially I suggest you leave an hour earlier than planned since that particular freeway can be becked up.

Computers in the lobby for free internet and printer use for all guests.

The cafe offers great food with lots of options. Full breakfast menus as well as cold and hot buffets available (cold $11, hot $14).

Parking is approx. $15 a day, it was the best deal I was able to find when comparing parking at other hotels (most parking prices were over $20 a day).

We felt very secure in the hotel as well, guests needed to use their room key to use the elevator to access the rooms. The staff was very helpful too.

I would recommend this hotel to everyone I know. I was 100% satisfied and would stay here again!!

“Comfortable”

For a franchise hotel, the Courtyard Marriots manage to feel comfortable and personal.

The staff at the Sherman Oaks Marriot were very friendly. Especially the waiters during breakfast were lovely and gave one a great start to the day. The breakfast buffet was great for about 13$ you get a lot of variety and can make your own waffles!

The lobby is spacious and has a great feel to it. The bar is right next to the entrance it's the usual hotel bar, not much else to say about it.

The room I was in, was a regular two bed room and it was very spacious. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was big enough. The toiletries were fine. There was no safe in the room, which was a bit odd and also no minibar, though there was a fridge.

The room felt comfortable and I had to work a lot during my stay and the work desk is allright, though the work chair stays rather low, which was a bit annoying. Still, I could definitely spend a longer time in the room if need be, it's comfortable enough.

The gym is small, but well equipped and there was plenty of water and towels available. The pool area was surprisingly nice and it's very spacious.

The hotel's in a great area to discover LA. Right next to the hotel there's the Sherman Oaks Galleria, which has a Cheesecake Factory restaurant, a Starbucks and lots of other restaurants. There's also an IHOP down the block. The nice thing is that there's even shops in the blocks surrounding the hotel, so it's actually worth walking around the area.

Overall, a great, comfortable hotel with great staff.

The Courtyard by Marriott, 15433 Ventura Boulevard, Sherman Oaks, LA offers good lodging in a very convenient location for easy access to the Skirball Center or the Getty Museum of whatever affair you might be attending. It is clean, has a nice lobby, pool, and is reasonably priced.

My family and I stayed at the Courtyard the other night when our power went out and the city was in the midst of a 110 degree heat wave. We literally walked in without reservations. The front desk staff (bravo Grace!!) was extremely helpful despite the fact that they were obviously busy. Grace was able to take care of our needs--crib for our infant, suite to accommodate all of us, etc.--without batting an eye. (Granted, it may help that I am a premium level Marriot member.)

The price was fair, although given the heat, I would have given her a kidney if I could have had an air conditioned room for the night.

I don't know if they allow pets, but no one squawked when we brought our dog in (somewhat hidden from view) as she couldn't stay at home without a/c!!

The location is great for tourists and locals alike. While our 10th floor windows faced the freeway, it was quite and peaceful.

My on concern, and it is a minimal one, is that the restaurant didn't open until 7 am for breakfast. Most of the world won't care, but when the kids are up and hungry at dawn, ya gotta feed them somehow!

Lucky for us, the power was on the next day and we could move home, but this did make for a nice mini-vacation.

The pictures on the website look almost too good to be true: bright colours in the rooms and lobby areas; a rooftop pool overlooking the Hollywood Hills with a palm tree and in line for the most glorious sunsets each night. On this occasion, the camera does not lie. The hotel is fabulous – and for all the right reasons. The hotel is newly refurbished, less than 3 years ago. The carpets still feel soft and new as you walk over them in your shoes. The staff are slick and friendly – and the lobby area is of the standard you would find in the most luxurious and trendy boutique hotels. I received a personal phonecall from the manager of the hotel welcoming me to the area and asking if there was anything he could do to assist. A nice touch – and genuine too!

If you end up with a room facing the South side, bring a pair of binoculars to enjoy the view of some of the most expensive homes set in the Hollywood Hills. Our experience was great from beginning to end. There is free wireless in the room and a public computer area downstairs. The hotel charges $14.00/day for parking which is not that bad considering that regular users of the parking lot are charged $23.00/day. The rooftop pool is also something of a highlight. It was clean and tidy with a great view of the Sherman Oaks area. The pool was warm, as was the hot tub too. I would say that for a courtyard hotel, this has to be one of the best – and you are only 9 miles drive from Santa Monica and even less from Beverly Hills. It’s also slightly warmer than staying on the opposite side of the hills. I would have no hesitation in recommending this place and staying there once again.
