The location is HORRID. My husband and I arrived thinking that this was going to be an okay hotel since it was a well-known name, and since it was recommended as part of a travel package through Expedia. However, as soon as we drove up we knew we were in for it. We found the very last parking spot in the parking lot, which was locked up at night (so you had no place to park after dark), however I didn't even feel safe keeping my car in the lot directly below our room. The cars in the lot were all jammed in so there was no hope of getting our car out again until the morning anyways. On top of that, there were numerous thugs hanging out everywhere, and the staff at the front desk was flat out RUDE. We got to our room and the comforter smelled like urine, and the patio was infested with mosquitoes. But the best was yet to come...after a long flight my husband and I decided to stay in for the night, so we ran across the street to a convenience store to get a six pack of beer. However, at the store we were in line with an ugly prostitute who was arguing with the clerk that she didn't want to buy the box of 10 condoms when she only needed one, so could she just buy one? After getting our beer (which was much needed by this point) we settled into the urine-stained sheets on our bed only to hear a group of guys fighting in the parking lot below us. Calling the front desk got us no where (they could've cared less that bullets were about to fly). Also, all night long doors slammed open and shut and questionable noises were heard in the room next door (use your imagination). I still cannot believe that this hotel was advertised by Expedia (we got our money back). Needless to say, after a sleepless night wondering if we were going to get shot by a stray bullet or if our rental car would be on cinder blocks in the morning, we checked out and headed up to Beverly Hills, where we should have stayed in the first place except for the fact that until then I had believed a good deal could still be had. Well, I was had. From now on, it's the Elan Modern Hotel all the way (and it's cheap too!).
