I stayed here for two nights while I attended a weekend exercise retreat. The hotel had been recommended by the retreat organizers and shuttle service back and forth to the gym was included.
Among the many good features of the hotel:
Complimentary hot breakfast buffet - better than average. For example, both scrambled and hard-boiled eggs, and two different kinds of yoghurt, in addition to the usual waffles, muffins, bagels, oatmeal and etc. The breakfast buffet was open for a three-hour window, so you didn't have to set your alarm so you wouldn't miss breakfast. The two mornings I was there they did not run out of anything. Tables were cleared promptly.
The rooms had miniature kitchens with everything most people need to cook, including a full-sized refrigerator, microwave, small stove, toaster, and a dishwasher!
Though I didn't use it, they offer to do your grocery shopping for you, and there is a complimentary social hour on most weeknights. Nice tv with good reception. I did not try the internet access but some people in our group used it with no problem. They also allow little frou-frou dogs with a deposit.
I was in Room 102 and although the room layout was a little awkward and I had a nice view of the bus stop across the street I was not bothered by street noise.
Note: the hotel is approximately a mile from the Wilshire end of Rodeo Drive. It is an easy walk if you don't have a lot of packages.
What made it less than perfect for me: The parking situation. I have an older car. When I pulled into the parking entrance the valet looked at me, looked at my battered Toyota, and asked something like "Are you sure you are registered in this hotel?" I assured him I was, and let him park my car. This hurt my feelings , though, and I mentioned it to someone connected with the parking concession and wasn't going to mention it further until I picked up my car on Sunday and there were dirty water spots on the front and side windows. When I pay $20 a day to park my car I would at least expect to get it back in the same or better condition as when I left it! Fortunately I keep window cleaner and a towel in the car so I was able to clean the glass before I had to get on the freeway home. Next time I will park the car next to a sprinkler somewhere myself.
By the way, if you are comparing hotels in the area, make sure they are quoting a figure that includes the occupancy tax.
Overall, I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay near Beverly Hills.
