“Staff have attitude problems”

Residence Inn Beverly Hills

I should mention at the outset, that the night manager at this hotel was delightful....that is, unfortunately where it stopped.
I don't even know where to begin...
I asked the desk person the day after arriving if he could give me the AAA rate, as I read that it was available at this hotel...his attitude was that it wasn't worth looking up because there probably wasn't difference anyway......[what?????]
Next, we had a problem with a crying baby in the next room....the walls must be like paper. reported at front desk....no response...they didn't care.
went down for buffet breakfast...well, what a battle. there must have been twice the number of guests fighting for half the number of tables...one morning, we ended up just going out on the cold to eat.
then there is the free shuttle that they advertise. Well, thats if they FEEL like taking you. I asked them one morning at around 9am to go somewhere and was told they were busy until 11am......i don't know what they were doing, but it wasn't shuttling people.
Then, on our last day, I rang to make a shuttle booking at 8am. i was told straight out that the shuttle was booked out all day ....great service. when i complained at the front desk, they made a phone call and mysteriously there was a shuttle available in 15 minutes.
Otherwise, the hotel was 'okay'
Rooms are very tiny.
One thing going for this hotel is location, location, location.
But, next time, I think I'll stay at the Crowne Plaza which is right across the road, and hopefully, they will have staff that do give a damn.

I stayed at this hotel with my wife based on previous reviews. Those of you that said that this hotel is not a "fancy Beverly Hills type hotel" are correct, but the price is $200-$250 LESS PER NIGHT than those fancy Beverly Hills hotel! This is not the Four Seasons or Ritz, but it is a great Marriott hotel.

We had a great one bedroom suit that had a full kitchen with servie for four, small living area and two LG flat -panel TV's (one in the separate bedroom and one in the living area) I just stayed at an Omni hotel almost two times the price that did not have flat panels yet. The breakfast buffet that is included free is very nice with omelettes to order, waffles to order and and cereals, yogurts, fruits and breads. High speed internet is free through out the hotel which works well and in the lobby there are two PCs with printers that you can use for free to print maps, boarding passes, etc..... although the front desk and bell boys are very eager to assist with directions and recommendations.

The hotel is a block away from Beverly Hills city proper and a few more blocks to Rodeo drive, but is located in great central area so you can get to the beach, the airport, Universal Studios, Hollywood with ease (by Los Angeles standards)

The decor is very warm and pleasing. The hotel is immaculate and tidy too. Very clean and our housekeepr gave the extra touches by folding our clothes, leaving extra towels and she was very pleasant. The front desk, valet and bell and breakfast staff are super friendly. We only stayed for two nights and they remembered our name at the Front Desk as we passed by. Impressive in this day of very average service. They were all very knowledgebale with directions too.

Highly recommend if you are not looking to spend $350 plus per night.

“OK Hotel”

Stayed here 1 night in a studio room. Hotel has a strange lay out and we drove right past it once. Valet parking with in and out privileges. Location is good. 2 free internet stations in the lobby. Standard Marriott décor.

Do not take a room that ends in 11. You will hear the elevators! It was all that was open when we arrived and we were only here 1 night so I thought no biggie. Wrong! Also there is a full size sliding door that opens into thin air! Mine would not lock so watch your kids. The air-con is in the corner alcove so air circulation to the bedding area is next to non existent. Bed is crammed in there so you can barely get out of it on 1 side and the TV credenza at the foot of the bed also blocks egress. The Kitchen and living area were great with lots of space. Free wi-fi and wired internet. The carpet baseboard was coming off in 1 corner.

Bathroom had previous guest’s hair in the tub and on the floor. Sink made a horrible noise when you turned the water on. You can not have the closet and the bathroom door open at the same time as they block each other. Some plaster issues in the bath.

Breakfast was very busy and ended up eating in the bar area. It was a good selection for it being included.

I will stay here again but making sure I am not near an elevator and will bring my own Swiffer to clean up the hair.

“Great Location, Great Value”

Residence Inn Beverly Hills

4 of 5 stars
Berkeley, California
Nov 26, 2007

Stayed at this location over Thanksgiving.

The room: Comfortable bed, flat screen tv and spacious.

Amenities: Free breakfast daily with a large selection.
M-F they have appetizers and happy hour for free.
Parking is $20 dollars daily and there isn't anywhere close to maybe park and just walk to the hotel. They do allow in and out privileges
No pool, but a nice sized whirlpool.
The gym (although small) had a lot of nice equipment in it.

Location: Close to a lot of major attractions. If you go further down Beverly there are lots of shops and food places Pinkberry, Chiptle etc.
Not far from Sunset, La Brea, Melrose, Hollywood blvd etc. Even closer to Rodeo Dr. Century City mall is right down Pico.
Grocery store (Ralphs) is right off Pico if you're looking to take full advantage of the kitchen.

Very good location for the money. Great value, especially if traveling as a family.

“Great Central Location”

Not a fancy Beverly Hills hotel by any means, but it's clean, comfortable and at a great intersection of Pico and Beverly, 20 mins walk to Rodeo Drive, and half hour to Santa Monica (barring traffic). Near the freeway, but far enough that you can easily use local roads and avoid freeway traffic.

Free breakfast gets packed quickly, and LOTS of families stay here. The room is small, but the living area comes in handy when you/your luggage want to spread out.

Courtyard style setting, so not a lot of light in your room, and with 7 floors, you will wait for the elevator.

At ~$200/night, with $20/day parking, it's "reasonable" for the zip code you are in!
