We were going to a wedding in the West Hollywood area and the Hollywood Celebrity Hotel was on the list of hotels near the wedding reception. After reading the reviews about this hotel on trip advisor and going on the the hotel's website, we book a one night reservation. The hotel is an older hotel with an art deco and Hollywood theme. The rooms were apartments at one time because we reserved the executive king room and it had a large room with a king size bed, a little room with a table & chairs, mircrowave and refrigerator. The closet area and bathroom were a good size too. The rooms are casual and comfortable. The hotel was conveniently close to the wedding, restaurants, shopping, bars and clubs. The hotel also has free parking behind their building. The hotel serves a continental breakfast, which is not the best part of the this hotel. Next time we need to stay in West Hollywood we would definitely choose the Hollywood Celebrity Hotel.

My wife and I liked this hotel. It was clean, spacious and is a great location for exploring West Hollywood. We loved the decor as well as the position in a quiet side street. The front desk staff were friendly and very helpful with any requests we had.
Like previous reviewers we had a problem with parking - I really do not like double parking and leaving the keys with reception - especially as your rental car insurance will most certainly not cover other drivers.
Our one big problem was noise - they had a large group of young teenage students staying there - some form of performing arts group?
They were running up and down the corridors (no carpets), in and out of each others rooms (heavy doors which close with a bang) very late. They seemed to have little supervision and the night staff didn't do anything until I complained pointedly.
So my advice - if you want to stay here - ask a few questions about visiting groups before you book.

I stayed 4 nights at this hotel recently. For the price, the location is superb! The hotel is within easy walking distance of most of the main sights in Hollywood, as well as the buses and underground trains. The room was large and clean, the breakfast was simple but sufficient, and the front desk staff were uniformly pleasant and helpful. Visit the Magic Castle (the hotel has a membership) around the corner, and you will have a memorable trip! I would definitely stay here again.

I've just lived at the Hollywood Celebrity for four months and I've rarely found anyplace so friendly, centrally located and reasonable.

I recommend the place highly and will miss the friends I've made here. It's on a tiny little nub of a street, but a minute's walk to the Hollywood-Highland Center and three minutes to magnificently sleazy Hollywood Boulevard and my favorite dive, the Snow White Cafe. The magnificent Hollywood Hills are just above.

Also -- you can easily walk to the Cafe des Artistes which might be the best restaurant in Hollywood. (Skip Musso-Frank, though.)

A great place to learn about life in LA. I'd recommend the Hollywood Celebrity to anybody.
