You had to practically pry us away from the Mod. Such a restful, peaceful and quiet escape, although so close to so much. As our flight in was delayed, we arrived at 11pm dinnerless. Laura gave us some edibles to get us through till morning, including a box of Girl Scout Cookies (Thin Mints - my favorite). She is a relaxed and warm host. The room and the poolside lounging were fabulous. Top notch - highly recommended.

Our visit to The Mod Resort was during unfortunate circumstances for the funeral of a beloved relative. However, thanks to Laura who was so amazing in quickly accommodating our last minute booking, we felt completely at ease from the moment we walked into this oasis of peace and serenity.

Laura made everything easy from late night dining suggestions to graciously upgrading us to a larger suite to accommodate our needs. Our suite was perfect with the calming neutral palette Laura chose, with each room uniquely designed. My favorite were the luxurious white sheets and duvet on the bed, which made leaving our room that much harder.

The pool courtyard area feels like an inviting extension of the 14 guest suites as Laura creatively framed it with billowing white curtains which offer a light and airy dream like quality to the property. The patio furniture is white with clean and simple lines further enhanced by the fresh white pool towels, emerald green grass, rock gardens, silver, glass and mirrored embellishments that surround.

I hope to return one day under happier circumstances because the resort would be great for a girl's weekend, wedding parties, bachelorette parties, or romantic get a way. Just as The Mod has its "Zen" like qualities, it is equally conducive to a sophisticated party atmosphere around the pool as well as the suites with kitchenettes and bar stools. Hence, it is best to leave the kids at home, especially little ones.

We just returned from an absolutely wonderful 3-night escape to The Mod. Owner, Laura, runs a first-rate hotel, and she pays attention to all the details. The decor is impeccable, fun, minimalist and warm. The pool area is fantastic--tranquil and relaxing. We will definitely be back!

MOD!! Born in 1954, MOD has been face-lifted into the new age with amazing TLC by it's adorable and ultra-tasteful owner Laura. I am truly at this very moment, lying by the pool, lap-top on lap, soaking up the sun and the ambience of this absolutely perfect getaway. Come with someone you love. Come with your best friend. Come with a a party and rent the whole darn place! (Leave the kids at home - this is too cool for them.) If you have big plans for sightseeing go ahead...but for us, a walk to the Paseo for some retail therapy and a myriad of restaurants is all we need. Otherwise we're staying right here in the chic, groovy and ultra-cool MOD.
