“Charming Bed and Breakfast”

Hidden Oak Inn

We stayed at the Hidden Oak Inn from 7/1-7/3. We had a wonderful experience. Valerie and Don were great hosts.
They gave us a card that would get you free tastes for lots of wineries around Sonoma County. They put out wine and cheese every evening which is a great touch. They even have bikes you can use to bike around the wineries nearby. The pool and hot tub were refreshing after a long day of wine tasting and shopping. The bed was comfortable and the room and inn had plenty of room to lounge around. We wouldn’t hesitate staying there again if we were in Sonoma.

“Wonderful Stay”

Hidden Oak Inn

Our stay at Hidden Oak Inn was nothing short of marvelous. Valerie and Don Patterson are some of the best innkeepers we have ever had the joy of staying with. The home is beautiful and the service beyond compare. We had all three rooms booked by our group so they tailored breakfast to our schedule. The breakfasts were wonderful and we even got recipes for some of our favorite dishes. The wine and chesse trays at night introduced us to several new wineries that we were in turn able to visit during our time in the wine country. Hidden Oak Inn is a great place to stay and visit both Sonoma and Nappa wineries.
Valerie loaned us picnic equipment so we had lunch at one of the winery picnic areas. This included not only cold packs for our food but a complete table setting including plates, napkins, flatware, and stemware for the wine!
In addition we were able to participate in Don's winemaking activities one afternoon. There is no better way to understand wine making than to get your hands in the grapes and Don is a great teacher.
We also had wonderful relaxing times around their lovely pool and hot tub. After a day on the road sampling wines it is wonderful to settle in for a quiet soak before dinner.
We look forward to future stays at this delightful B&B.

“Can't think of anything missing about this inn...”

Hidden Oak Inn

5 of 5 stars
Chapel Hill, NC

Unless you want to be right in the middle of the vineyards for your stay in the Sonoma valley (which is perfectly reasonable, in which case Glen Ellen is idyllic), I don't see what anyone could want that's not to be found at the Hidden Oak. My wife and I wanted to stay in town, since the wineries close by 6pm and we wanted to have a place to go with a nice city atmosphere, great restaurants and bars to spend a late evening, all within walking distance of where we stayed. This hotel is a block and a half from the Plaza, just far enough to be totally quiet at night yet literally one minute from the heart of town by foot. There are only 3 rooms, and people seem to keep their own hours so we didn't see the other guests too often. Our room was huge and extremely comfortable. Breakfast was perfect to get something in the stomach before early morning drinking!

Overall, a gem,

“A top-notch B & B”

My wife and I just spent 3 nights at the Hidden Oak Inn in Sonoma. I was quite skeptical, because I normally do not like B & Bs. However, due to the location of the Inn right near the Sonoma square, as well as the good reviews, I decided to give it a try.
It was just great. The house and the rooms are gorgeous. The hosts are also very good. There is a great breakfast, and afternoon wine and cheese. You can also walk to 2 wineries from the Inn (Sebastiani, Ravenswood). We plan to return to the Hidden Oak on my next trip to wine country.

“Great Inn!”

The Hidden Oak Inn is a nice bed and breakfast and very tastefully decorated. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The location is also great! Walking distance to the town center.

The breakfast, afternoon wine and cheese and evening snacks are delicious. The innkeepers also keep a fridge stocked with goodies for the guests. Nice touches throughout the inn which made me feel very welcomed, and comfortable.

The 3 guest rooms are all located upstairs. The downstairs common area are cozy and inviting.

The only downside that I noticed is that the walls are rather thin, and there is very little sound proofing. You can pretty much hear the neighboring room, noises from downstairs and outside.

I would definitely recommend the French Lilac room if you want to minimize the street noise and the pool noise.
