Stayed at this hotel end of June for 3 nts. We were very pleased with this hotel. The family room was nice, although dark due the the fact that is faced a wall (that was the only negative) but we were not in it long enough for it to bother us. The pool area is really nice. Breakfast is great and parking is very convenient. The immediate area wasn't great to walk around especially if like us you have children. All in all we were very pleased with the Hotel and would recommend it.

We stayed in the Best Western at the beginning of June, and enjoyed our stay, especially the continental breakfast which had plenty of pastries to keep us going.
The location is very good and easily accessible, I would definitely stay again.

Spent 3 nights at the Sunset Plaza at the end of May and was very happy with our stay.

The room was spacious and very clean and a welcome relief following a bad experience at the Travelodge in Santa Monica (see separate review).

We had a lovely room with patio doors which opened out onto the pool area. We had no problems with noise from other guests or homeless people outside the hotel, both issues mentioned in previous reviews.

My only negative comment would be that the mattresses were a little soft for me but this is a personal preference rather than a criticism of the hotel + the continental breakfast was a bit uninspired ( if bagels are not your thing ...)

We used the hop on hop off bus tour which stops directly opposite the hotel and was an easy way of getting around. It cost $40 dollars which we paid directly to the bus driver so no need for prebooking but the ticket was then valid for 2 full days.

I would also go along with the recommendation re the Saddle Ranch restaurant made in an earlier review. Very handy to the hotel, good food and friendly staff - we were given a complimentary desert which was a warm cookie covered in melting ice cream - delicious! The nearby hotdog place, I think it was called Carneys (it is an old railway car) was also good.

I would stay here again and would recommend it to friends and family.

We stayed at the Best Western for 3 days the last week in May. I will agree with previous reviews that most of the Reception Staff are just O.K.- although the young lady that initially served us was very good. The hotel itself is very nice, rooms are tastefully decorated and comfortable. We did not find the noise to be a problem at all. Pool area is beautiful. Continental Breakfast is fine, nothing great. We really liked the location as it is close to everything and great for people watching. Yes there are some street people in the vicinity but nothing unusual or excessive. I think the hotel is a little expensive for what you get but I know you are paying for the location as well. Would stay here again.
