“Worked out perfect”

Winter Park Mountain Lodge

5 of 5 stars
Nashville
May 16, 2007

This was our yearly guys ski trip. It was a group of about 10 of us. The hotel worked out great. The ski shop downstairs is such a plus to this place. And the shuttles to ski lifts are always coming by. The skiing is great, as well as views. The lack of females dissapointed some of the single guys, but come cold beer helped relieve the pain. Overall, this is a great place to stay in Winterpark for the price.

I don't understand the complaints presented here...

My wife, daughter and I stayed here in early April. The rooms are nice and there is daily housekeeping service. The restaurant is great and the microbrews were very enjoyable after a day on the hill.

the staff were friendly and nice (the morning crew was almost too enthusiastic about Winter park).

We will come back and stay here again, I think other folks who posted here are just complainers who don't travel very much and expect everything to always be perfect... or people who have to complain to feel superior

“No Complaints Here”

I booked using WinterPark's Central Reservation and when I looked on TripAdvisor, I almost moved our reservation. I am glad I didn't. The only thing that went wrong during our stay was the bathroom light went out while we were getting cleaned up for dinner, and that was fixed before we got back from dinner with a call to the front desk.

The staff was very helpful too. I asked several different people throughout our stay at the front desk varying questions, and they were all extremely helpful. What's the most romantic place in town? Any good ideas where I should propose? What time does the shuttle come? Etc.

The location was okay. You have to take the shuttle everywhere, but that is true no matter where you stay, unless you stay right at the base. The route this hotel is on is shorter than most I think.

Our room was clean. No complaints there. We stayed in a suite facing the slope.

I honestly wouldn't change anything about the hotel except, add a star maybe. It was very adequate for what we paid in Winter Park.

There is nothing swish about this hotel - the rooms are spacious and clean and the hotel is in a good location. I have no complaints, but similarly have no compliments!

“The worst hotel we have ever stayed at period. (Pictures)”

Winter Park Mountain Lodge

The beds sheets and pillows were unclean and stained, (see pictures). The room we stayed in was designed for one double and had two double beds. Because a second bed was added it made this room the smallest and most cramped room I have ever stayed in. We reserved a non-smoking room through hotels.com and got a smoking room (staff would not help us get a non smoking room). The bathroom was extremely dirty with mold growing in the tub and rust stains running down the rail, (see pictures). Staff was very unhelpful, we asked for a different room and they said that they were full and unable to switch our room. However the vacancy sign was on, so we called in from our cell phone and they said they did had rooms available. After we confronted them they said there was nothing they could do. Basically they did not want to switch rooms because they knew how horrible this room was. The overall condition of the walls, beds etc were very poor. Someone had a dog or animal in the room we stayed in and it chewed the lamp power cord, the staff would not fix this (see picture). One of the hot tubs didn't work. The only thing good about the hotel was that it was close to the Winter Park ski area. I just expect a lot more out of a hotel when paying $175 per night. Please for the sake of yourself, please stay elsewhere.
