“We were happy and would go back”

Cedar Park Inn And Suites

Jun 1, 2008

My husband and I along with another couple stayed for one night. Although there was a slight change in the package deal from the time we made reservations a month before and when we arrived, they rectified the situation to our satisfaction without us asking. It wasn't a real big deal but involved eating at Custy's buffet which by the way was fabulous and worth it!!!

Personally I cannot believe some of the reviews. We stayed in the luxury suite and the room was VERY clean. The bed and linens were new looking and extremely comfortable. The jacuzzi was very clean and was great. The only thing I can think of is that the track lighting didn't work and we couldn't call our friend's room so we used our cell phones. They said the rooms connected but they didn't and it wasn't a big deal to us so we had no complaint to make. We had no problem calling the front desk who was very polite and nice.

I don't think there are many hotels that give enough towels, but when we asked to have some brought to the room (we went to dinner) they were there upon our return.

Some of the people who wrote such negative reviews I think would have issues at a 5 star hotel. They are just obnoxious people in general in my opinion and do it to see how far they can go with getting more then what they pay for.

We were extremely impressed with the complimentary continental breakfast. We have traveled to many hotels and continental breakfasts never came close. I was floored with the selection and quite happy with everything they offered. The massage chair was a nice touch. We had fun with it.

We stayed on a Sunday and it rained anyway, so there was no evening beer and appetizers to enjoy. We hope to return when we can take advantage of it.

One thing I agree with is the limo service. When I made the reservations they did say they work on tips and said $10 per head each way. I think that is expensive and we drove ourselves to Foxwood. Great idea though if you plan on partying hard at the casino and couldn't drive. For the 4 of us it would have been $80 from hotel to Foxwoods and just a 10 minute ride away. Way too much!!!!

We definitely want to go back when the weather is warmer to take advantage of relaxing and using the outdoor area. All in all we think this place was great.

“25th anniversary”

Cedar Park Inn And Suites

May 23, 2008

I have tried to submit this two times now, therefore I will not write all that I have in the past, would prefer to speak to the owner of this establishment. We stayed at this place for 3 nights, only because we had paid Way in advance.
We experienced an Ant infested room, with mice, windows that would not shut unless we went outside and pushed them shut with a window scraper; we left the window open while we were gone because the room reaked from cig. smoke. We do smoke, but not inside because it causes this smell, lack of proper amount of wash cloths for two people, towels and no extra pillows in the room; I did get some after asking for them (pillows). Was told that the refrigerators would be stocked for breakface, which they were not, the waffle mix was left sitting on the counter, where it looked like it had been there for a real long time; there was cerial in canisters; did not know how long it had been sitting there. There was no coffee made, could make our own, no regular only flavored blends. Was told that there would be a supply of fruit, only oranges. Was told that we would receive a bottle of champaine with glasses left in our room compliments of the facility when we returned for the day, which never happened. The jet tub kept coming on long after I had gotten out of it, the television only had about 3 channels, any more then we had to pay for it And, the hair dryer left for our use, didn't even work!
We easily could of stayed at one of the casinos for less money, but wanted to treat ourselves to a little something special away from our family and friends; This surely was a mistake going here. We should of been offered a refund or a free stay at a later time after things were fixed up.
The bed was not bad as far as compfort goes, although, everytime one of us would move it sounded like the head board was going to fall on us. I'd love to hear from the owner of this establishment.
As for the rating of this facility, a few nights stay will speak for it self.
There seemed to be a lot of people around the facility working, looked like some were working for a party, others were working as if they were trying to get the facility up and running for the season, if this were the case, no rooms should be available until all is ready. Ants and mice, should surely be noticed daily!

“Love it!!!”

Cedar Park Inn And Suites

I've read the other reviews and I can't believe that anyone would say anything bad about this place. My boyfriend and I stayed at cedar park this past weekend and it was a wonderfull stay! It was very clean, the staff was excellent. They had brand new white sheets and pillows. The party with free drinks was a nice touch. Once again I don't know why anyone would say bad things about this hotel I would recommend it to my friends, family, strangers.

“Used to be good TERRIBLE NOW”

Cedar Park Inn And Suites

1 of 5 stars
Rhode Island
May 1, 2008

1. The bed looked as if someone had been sleeping in it. We were not even offered a room change.
2. There was no coffee in the room. There advertisemtent states coffee in rooms. We paid for a Luxury Suite. When we told the girl at the front desk about the room and the coffee she said, and I quote “ Oh sorry we ran out of coffee as it is the end of the week and we were busy. We will be getting more in during the week” We realize this was probably just a bad choice of words, but how off putting…. We arrive on a Sunday and are still paying the higher weekend price but are told that you have run out of supplies and basically its … oh well too bad for us. As far as the room goes, she would mention it to management and get back to us.
3. We were told we could get coffee from the breakfast area but however there was no regular coffee only flavored and not much of that left …. and oh yes… end of week and they ran out or at least that is what we were told again.
4. There were no tissues in the room.
5. There were no extra pillows
6. There were no face cloths in the room
7. There were no hand towels in the room
8. There was a hole in the door to the bathroom and although no big problem we still felt we needed to report this as we did not want to be blamed for it.
The person at the desk had no clue how to even handle the situation and did nothing to help, not even offer to change our room. Just said oh someone will get back to you. Never heard from anyone. We complained at the time of checkout also. We were told someone would call us yet No one has.
We regret having stayed there it was a waste of money and a very bid disappointment.. We would NOT recommend this place to anyone!

“what happened to the old cedar park?”

Cedar Park Inn And Suites

Big deal so you got new linen but you lost your charm. My girlfriend and I were frequent guests and we returned because of Barbete and Dee who were very nice to us. The women at the front desk now are very rude, noone knew where the rooms were, we had to go to the office to get our own towels that were supposed to be in the room. The managers reception has become a joke. We remember when the food was good at happy hour and there was music. The food is yucky now. Barbete was a great hostess and her husband Ron was an outstanding musician. Shame on the owner for letting the hotel go downhill like this. We will not be returning and not recommend it as we once did. Get the old staff back, put out some cookies and wheres the kitty cats?

The charm is still here and we invite you to come back and see for yourself! By the way Barbett says hi, she is coming back from her injury and will be working this weekend
