“Adequate, not memorable”

Renaissance Boca Raton Hotel

3 of 5 stars
Minneapolis, MN
May 13, 2008

We stayed at the Renaissance Boca Raton for several days in April to attend a friend's wedding nearby. We were able to find an impressive rate online using a travel website, and as such we looked forward to the stay in weather that was too hot for an outdoor wedding (but that's nothing I'd blame on this hotel, of course).

The hotel employees were above average and friendly. The room was on par with good, upscale hotel room (it seemed recently renovated). The beds were comfortable and offered a number of pillows for whatever a guest would require. I was not impressed by the pool area for a hotel in this region, but the hotel itself is situated in a business area and seems to be aimed at the business set. The on-site restaurant, Umbria, was average for lunch. I noticed the location was very convenient to large Town Center at Boca Raton mall, Florida Atlantic University (FAU), as well as freeway access.

My main gripe was cell phone service: I could not get any T-Mobile coverage from my room or inside the hotel. I know this wasn't just my phone because I saw patrons in the restaurant (strangers) also have to go outside to get a signal. My partner did not have this problem with her Verizon service, so I guess its a T-Mobile thing.

I would recommend this hotel if you can get a good deal on it online; otherwise I assume you can find better hotels at the "retail" premium prices.

“Great Place”

Renaissance Boca Raton Hotel

May 2, 2008

I recently went to Boca Raton for a vacation with my girlfriends. We looked at a lot of different hotels in various cities: Ft. Lauderdale, Miami, etc. We found that the price to stay in Boca Raton was the best deal. Once we got there we were very pleased with our decision. The lobby was warm and inviting. They served fresh cookies and mimosas during the week day. The staff was EXCELLENT and very willing to help us out with whatever we needed. The pool was very clean and inviting. The rooms were nice and clean and the bedding very comfortable. The only downside we could think of was when we asked the conceriege where to go for breakfast he didn't seem to know much besides the restaurant within the hotel.

Overall, we loved the hotel and would highly recommend it to anyone.

“Smaller, decent hotel”

Renaissance Boca Raton Hotel

3 of 5 stars
Boston, Massachusetts
Apr 30, 2008

We just spent 4 days at the Renaissance Boca Raton and while we enjoyed ourselves and really have nothing to complain about, it was also nothing to write home about.

The lobby was clean, a bit small, but the staff was pleasant and always helpful.

Room was a decent size but seemed a bit musty/damp, almost like it had been humid and closed up for a while. Otherwise fine and clean but again, just average.

Pool was good and always had chairs available. Bar there was good, drinks and food were good and staff was always pleasant.

Close by were a lot of strip malls and chain restaurants, again, not exactly my cup of tea but fine for quick dinners. I prefer walking to driving and this was not a good area for that.

We would have preferred to stay closer to downtown DelRay or Ft Lauderdale and prob will next time, no reflection on the hotel, just the proximity to anything fun!

“Superb Customer Service”

Renaissance Boca Raton Hotel

Apr 14, 2008

The company I work for was having a huge conference in Florida, and one of our partners was staying at the Renaissance. We had a few boxes being shipped to him there, and there was a mix up with the mailing company. We couldn't properly deal with the problem as we were all still in New York City. Well, the staff and the concierge at the Renaissance were a HUGE help to us! A big thank you to Silviu who took time out of his day to travel to the pick up location for us and rescue our boxes. The customer service experienced from this hotel was top notch. Thanks again!

“Pretty good for your money”

Renaissance Boca Raton Hotel

Mar 29, 2008

Overall, I enjoyed my stay. The pool area was really nice/tropical and the pool bar was lively at night. Staff at the front desk were very nice and responded quickly to requests (such as towels). The main problem is that the rooms, while nice, are not luxurious and the bathrooms are very small. Also the "fitness center" consists of two circa 1995 treadmills, two very old bikes, two first generation elipticals, and a bench that literally fell apart when I sat on it (although the front desk immediately had someone fix it).

On a side note, the hotel is almost directly under the final approach for Boca Raton airport. I love planes, but if you don't like the roar of planes 600 feet above your head, this may not be the place for you

Overall, the hotel is pretty nice and very close to the mall (which is a really great mall). I would recommend this hotel over some of the more pricier Boca Resorts.

Thank you all for your comments on our unique hotel. We have just ordered brand new fitness equipment and it is scheduled to arrive by June. We are so excited! Plus we are remodeling the fitness center as well.
Also, we just received our brand new tropical pool pavilion furniture, including our cabanas. Our guestrooms are now complete with the newest Renaissance furnishings.

We welcome you all back!
