I can't say enough good things about this property. Comfortable rooms, attentive staff, and great beds. Not cheap, however worth the money. My only complaint would be that for a hotel of this size there are only 2 elevators and they are so slow that the stairs are far easier. Gorgeous location and free transportation are major pluses.

My husband and I visited Destin in September 07. Usually we go to Central or South Florida, but I was recovering from surgery and just needed a shorter drive; therfore, Destin was the chosen destination, and surely we made the right choice. We visited Destin some 10 to 15 years ago, and was not impressed at all, but I must admit, this time we were really impressed by such a remarkable change this place has made. We stayed at the Court Yard in Sandestin on Grand Boulevard. This hotel really meets the Marriott standards and was very clean. I must agree with some of the reviews I read, the hotel's front desk staff were not people friendly, but other than that , we were quite pleased with our stay. Location is important in choosing the right hotel, and this is a top notch location within the Baytowne Resort area. Within a short walk during the daytime is the nice Tommy Bahama store and resturant along with other chic shops and places to eat. This is a somewhat upscale area. Also there is a nice supermarket in this area. The outlet mall and Destin Commons are Hot spots also. The beach is beautiful. I am grateful to God that we have somewhere within a 5 to 6 hour drive that we can feel like we are on a true vacation when traveling from south Louisiana.

Both times I stayed at this Courtyard (for work) were pleasant. The rooms are clean and comfortable and there are nice little touches like a free newspaper, free coffee all day, free cookies in the afternoon and sometimes appetizers at the bar, and a free shuttle to the nearby shopping and dining area. They also have a little snack bar area where you can purchase anything from frozen dinners to candy bars 24/7. The workout room is a little small but I never found it to have many people (as most guests are at the beach!). And yes, the elevator is very slow. My biggest gripe is that the breakfast is a little expensive, but at least it's served onsite and it is a full hot breakfast.

We had issues with 2 hotels in 2 nights in our 3 night vacation to Destin and needed another hotel. Called the Courtyard at 7am and they had a room ready for us at 9am, WAY before check-in. This place is awesome, was a savior after problems with the highly rated Wingate. The price is a little higher and it is a little out of the way, but the quality here is well worth the extra drive and money. I only wish we would have stayed here the whole time, but we were thrilled to finally have a positve experience with a hotel in Destin.
