Not sure what other's are complaining about .. but this place is great! .. The staff is wonderful . . they truely make you feel welcome and at home. Bugs in our room? DIdn't see any! Dingy lighting? Not so. Dirty carpet? No. The pool is nice as well as the hot tub. And the grounds are beautiful .. they are very well taken care of.

Dot at the front desk is great .. she is such a sweet lady. And for those who had trouble when Henri owned it, he doesn't own it anymore. But I did deal with him when I booked our reservations and he was very nice to me. We got exactly what he booked for us.

We stayed from 6/25/06-7/09/06 and I was actually sad to leave, everyone was so friendly. And they are very reasonable as well. We paid $475/week .. you can't find prices like that!

Sad thing is, Dot told me that developers bought the place from Henri and with-in the next 4-5 years the place will be torn down :(

Would I stay again? In a heartbeat!

What are these others complaining about? We stayed over this past weekend and paid $63 a night. Compared to what other hotels in the area are charging this place is a steal. It is not right on the beach, but that is fine with me. Fort Myers has a free Trolley system that runs all day and picks up and drops off right in front of the hotel. It takes five minutes and you are at the beach. You can sleep quietly without all the noise from the beach area (motorcycles, gangs of kids, loud cars). The pool was nice and clean, as was the hot tub. Would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone. What were others expecting for the price, The Four Seasons?????

This place is very outdated. The lighting in the rooms is dingy and depressing, the carpets musty, there were mosquitos in our room, the windows barely locked, and there was minimal water pressure in the shower, along with bugs. We checked out after one night. This place needs an overhaul.

We were heading to Key West on theKey West Express and had made reservations at the Mariners Lodge. Our reservation was for a KING sized bed considering that my boyfriend is 6'9. Our room had 2 twin beds, not what we made the reservation for. We mentioned this to Henri, the owner, on our checkout, since the office is only open from 8-10. He informed us that there are only 2 king sized beds in the entire establishment. We feel that there wasn't a king sized bed availabe when we made the reservation he just said there was. We were also staying there on our return trip home and he assured us that our room would have a king bed, wrong. We settled for the room we had, again noone there to do anything, and left a note with our keys upon checkout that we were expecting a discount. No discount and no king sized bed.
