My husband and I were to stay at the Paradise Inn beginning on Friday, May 30, and leaving Sunday, June 1. With our confirmation number in hand (guaranteeing late arrival), we drove two and a half hours, after working a twelve-hour day, only to be told that they didn't have our room and it wouldn't be available until Saturday. What??? Are You Kidding Me???
We are actually repeat visitors to the Paradise Inn, we even spent our wedding weekend there. But this time around was quite different, and we were treated by the night manager so badly that we were actually stunned by the whole experience.
They did offer to give us twenty dollars off our stay the next night, but we had a baby in tow, where did they want us to stay? Oh, they wanted us to check in at their sister hotel on a VERY busy street. Oh, and they would give us twenty dollars off that room as well.
We all know the importance of a holiday away from home...the relaxation that we all need. After thinking about the busy street they wanted us to stay on, the lack of sleep, the unrestful day we would have the next day due to packing and unpacking again, and the three hours that we would be without a hotel room in between check-out and check-in, we chose to get back in our car and drive the two and a half hours home. Our arrival back home was 1:30 a.m. What would a guest do if they had flown in from somewhere, or perhaps had driven further? If you question why we didn't just find another hotel, believe me, we tried. There was an event in town and everybody was booked solid.
Now we find that we are not the only ones who have been treated this way by the Paradise Inn.
We cannot recommend this place ever again. What was once our Paradise away from home has now been spoiled by a rude, uncaring and incompetent staff.
