My wife and I went to Key West for the first time and decided to stay at La Te Da based on all the positive reviews we had seen. Like a previous poster, we were greeted by name upon arrival at the front desk before checking in. We were shown to our room, a deluxe room right next to the pool. The room had plenty of size for two people on vacation. King bed, dresser and closet piece, couple sitting chairs and a small refrigerator. Our room had a throw rug down on the floor covering what felt like broken tiles underneath, but certainly nothing to complain about. The bed was comfortable, the room kept a good temperature, and never had any problems with any noise from the pool area or the bar. The breakfast vouchers you receive every morning are a huge plus. Its a choice of like three meals - eggs/bacon, french toast, or fruit platter (maybe something else too). The food is out of the restaurant and excellent, nothing like a mass produced cafeteria style meal. We relaxed at the bar at the end of the night a couple of times and enjoyed talking with the different bartenders and patrons. As a straight couple in our late twenties, we never felt out of place. The staff was very friendly and extremely accomodating, trying to make sure you had the best vacation possible. The hotel is located on the quiet side of Duval which was nice, but was certainly close enough to walk to the other end with no complaints. We enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this hotel.
